Out of those candidates I definitely want either Gentry or Sloan. I do not want McMillan at all though, because he's vastly overrated (never had a top 12 defense) and he would be a TERRIBLE fit for our roster.

My preference would be persuading Jerry Sloan to come here, a proven top notch head coach.

My second choice would be Nate McMillan, he's got a good record at Seattle and Portland.

And Alvin Gentry would be my third choice, a close third for the record.

Fingers crossed that whoever Jordan and co go for, that they get the right guy that can develop our players in the immediate future, and then in the near future push us on to become a competitive outfit. I'd like to see us get a long term head coach here in Charlotte, we really need one and not another short term guy.

    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
