Need to fence my backyard

for me because of all the trees and the elevation changes and also not wanting to mess with my view of the lake, the invisible fence is awesome.  not for every situation though, that's for sure.

Just got an estimate from Legacy fencing. They estimated it at $5,200 for 310 feet of fencing before labor. Seems little bit too high and I question the 310 feet number. I estimated my yard to be around 240 feet.

they usually like to quote 25% more then they think, people love it when you come in under a quote but hate it when you go over. That's probably what he's doing.

Price sounds about right, told you it's expensive.

I was thinking around $4k but not $6k. I will likely do it myself then. It will cost me around $3k to do it myself. $55 for 4x6 sheet. Let's says 300 feet. That's 50 sheets. 50 x 55 = $2,750. But I tell u my backyard is not 300 feet.

so just to confirm on that 4X6 sheet...you are putting up a 4 foot high fence in hopes of keeping two German Shepherds in your yard?

might want to reconsider the height....but that's just my opinion!

Really? My pup just turned 3 months old yesterday and already weights over 20lbs. I'm getting him a little sister in 4 months. Should I get 5 or 6 feet fence?

my male is about 110 pounds...and that's down from his prime now that he's starting to age pretty quick.  Even the female I have is 70 pounds or so.  My honest opinion is that a 4 foot fence would be equivalent to installing screen doors on a submarine.  Might look pretty, but not real useful.  It will keep them kids out, but I truly don't think it will keep your dogs in.

That said...you could probably build a ten foot fence and if they want to get out, they will find a way.  I had to kennel my male once for a couple of weeks and when he saw my truck pull into the parking lot to pick him up, I watched him go over two 8 foot chain link fences!!!

at the end of the day, we need to do what we can to keep them safely in the yard and keep the kids and other critters out, but I'd go minimum 5 feet, maybe even 6.

    • So Willis had a good game against a poor defense and all of a sudden he is worth 50 million and is guaranteed to be better than Young. LOL I know he looked good in the 3 games he started, and I think he will have success long term, but anyone signing him up for a long term contract for 50 million is taking a huge risk.
    • Is he really though? Rivera was past his prime and probably shouldn't have even started 2019 so his firing wasn't really unexpected or unwarranted. Rhule lasted two and a half years which was about one year too long in my opinion. Bringing him back that third year certainly wasn't impulsive and I would say Tepper was more patient than he should have been. Wilks finished out that third season and did pretty good but most everyone could see he really wasn't anything more than an intern HC. Bringing him back was not the long term answer so not bringing him back was the correct call. Hiring Reich was a mistake from the beginning and he recognized that fairly quickly. I am sure he knew he was going to catch a lot of sh*t for firing him so quickly ( and boy did he ) but it was absolutely the right thing to do given everything that was going on. The firing may have looked impulsive, but I think it was him recognizing he had royally f*ck up and just dealt with it instead of letting it fester.  That brings us to Canales. 2025 was only his second season and yet he delivered 8 wins and the NFC South title. And while that might not sound great, given the lack of talent and cap space they started with, it's a strong step in the right direction. I couldn't imagine Tepper not being pleased with their progress given the crap the Panthers' have been though under his ownership.
