"They're all thugs"

Awesomeness!!

Recommended Posts

Usually when you read sports article with the word THUG, it has little bit of  ignorance.

I wish these same people would be vocal about Corporate THUGS who have stolen billions of dollar, ruined millions of people's life and still manage to get away with the crimes with a few " million penalty" .........start giving them death penalty or life in prison like these " other thugs" and it might straighten them out little bit.

Would not call the Corp guys thugs.....but criminals, low lifes, dirt bags, scoundrels, all fit the bill.

For the record, and if you believe the reports that he has shot/killed 5 different people, Aaron Hernandez is a thug. The point of the OP wasn't to argue the meaning of the word thug. It was to highlight the fact that just because AH thinks its ok to shoot people for disrespecting him, that doesn't mean Steve Smith does.

You made a very valid point NA.  Not all NFL players are thugs, really a very, very small portion could be considered a thug.

Not all people that use that word, have racist intent behind it... but some do.  I've stated before, my "vision" of a "thug" is like an Italian American mobster/gangster type... that's my first though when I hear that word.

Hernandez certainly seems to fit the description of a thug... and an idiot too.  I suspect he thought he could get away with it, possibly because he has before.  It's a shame.  So few people get the chance that he did and he threw it all away for what?

Birdman was literally suspended for two years for cooking meth and looks like a character from a ray Bradberry novel but all you hear is "gosh that birdman what a character."

Meanwhile dez Bryant gets arrested at a mall for wearing his pants too low and cowboys fans scream for him to be cut.

Who says that about Birdman?

Outside of Miami, everyone I know thinks the guy is a punk/thug/creep

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
