Luke Kuechly bust?

* Rivera has a great defensive mind

Did their Rookie DT's play good? I am a big fan of their draft, but i wasn't expecting Star and Short to dominate right off the bat. Especially against the Ravens O line. I haven't got to see the game. I was out here directing traffic for Madison Central v Brandon football game. Your from the Sip so you know who that is. Brandon ranked #1 in the state right now.

Shoot yeah. Man, those boys were dominating. It was scary. Made me very glad they took Cam instead of Darius.

* Yeah, to me they have the best DE combo in the NFC. Next year or maybe two years from now they could have the best D line in the NFC. Freaking legit they got Star and then Short. They compliment each other so well.

* Their defensive line was the key to his success. They disrupted Flacco's rhythm. In my humble opinion, Spoon could have put up those stats without too much trouble if he was a Panther( a sight I never want to see).

* Dline is the reason for Kuechly to do what he did against the Ravens. Star and Short were destroying the middle of their Oline. Each with 1 sack and 3 TFL. Even when double teamed, Star still held them up.

Basically the DTs allowed Kuechly to run free. Every great MLB out there or has ever been out there, has had help from their Dline in freeing them up. Kuechly was a tackling machine with an eye for the ball last season with zero support in the middle of the line, if the DTs hold up, there could be a defensive player of the year award somewhere in Kuechly's future, down the road.

* The Panties front seven is sick. They punked us last year before the additions on the DLine. We better bring our lunch pail when we play em.

* AJ Klein may become really good... he and Kuechly = ouch

* Kuechly put almost every LB in the NFL to shame save Patrick Willis. Not sure why you're singling out the Falcons

* He is a beast. I'd take him over all our LBs over Spoon (yes, I know he's a MLB).

* Kuechly is a beast. I'm still surprised (and annoyed) that he fell to the Panthers. I know LBs aren't as highly valued as they should be but he was, and is, a much better player than #9 overall

* I liked Kuechly because he showed & proved last season he was more than capable. the young DTs yall drafted is gonna pay off big, but the thing that scared me down the line was when yall got AJ Klein. if he stays healthy and plays to his ability it'll be like having Kuechly a & b.

    • Why would we not be contenders? As long as Bryce plays like he did when he came back, we absolutely can be contenders...that is...   if the defense plays better... which is why adding someone like Ramsey when we have a QB on a rookie deal and can afford it makes sense IMO. No one thought of the Commanders being contenders last year or the Texans the year before and so on and so forth. Top-end QB play, especially for a guy on a rookie deal, changes everything in terms of timelines. Regardless of what this board thinks, I hope the front office is willing to he aggressive in thks window we currently have with a rookie QB deal
    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
