Seattle game will be a good litmus test for our offense

Sherman isn't Smoot.

at this point, you gotta give Sherman the edge in that matchup.

Really??

Sherman got burnt in the playoffs last year by Roddy White and Julio and you give Sherman the edge?

Roddy White maybe a better route runner than Smith but he is slower, weaker and not as athletic as Smith. No chance Sherman has the edge 1 on 1 against Smith

Julio is a different story.

Go watch the tape.

No chance?

Sherman won the matchup last year. Did you not watch Smith and Sherman?

Somehow people gave Smitty a pass. He was a dummy last year and Sherman got exactly what he wanted out of the somewhat predictable vet

I think that was more on Cam that game. He was erratic and not throwing accurately against Seattle.

Meh, I think that is a classic example of Smitty can do no wrong.

Smitty was so engaged with showing up Sherman he quit running routes at one point.....and Cam threw to where Smith should of been going.  Smitty had committed to wrestling the instant he came off the line.

Can't argue much there. I don't see that diva attitude happening game 1. He will be needed. Either as a decoy or as a playmaker.

Helped last time

That was more Cam fault than Smitty.

It's just like when we played the Jets when Revis was there... Smith was clearly beating Revis off the line and on jams... Jake just threw bad passes.

Even at 34.. there is no DB in the league that can jam him consistently or cover him 1 on 1.   However ..Seattle plays really really disciplined in the secondary.   Plus they are really good at hiding coverages.   They do a lot of weird stuff that works.

Smitty was the one who quit running routes....

How is that Cam's fault?

and there aren't a lot of good physical CBs that play in the NFL right now....which really helps an aging 89 bc that is his game largely now. Sherman is though.

Just a Question To Seahawks fans your best pass rusher will miss the game sunday   how much pass rush you think you might get with him also one your line backers will also miss the game. chris clemons and cliff avrils will both miss sundays game

Not to mention Irvin. It is a valid question but if any team has a secondary that can compensate the Hawks do.They are stacked with talent but I suspect there will be clearly a drop off.If we can sustain some drives I suspect we could wear them down.

The thing is Shula must be creative with the offense especially since we have proven during preseason that we do not have a power running game coupled with SSmith will be at least partially neutralized by Sherman.I  think that is a given.

I hope we least attempt using short passes as an extension of our running game and see if Barner or Dlow can break one. I think it will be interesting to see if Ginn can get separation at the line of scrimmage..if he can he will win the foot race. There CBs are cocky and play pretty tight coverage.
