Gucci Manes Thoughts

Gucci Mane

Ok, after plenty of beer and constant hindsight, ive decided to release the inner notepad onto the Huddle..

Here we go:

- First and foremost, you can't even talk about the game without mentioning how awesome our defense looked. Its nice to be able to still feel confident about the game when the offense struggled on the previous series. Last year it was like we had to score every drive to stay in it.

-The DLine actually got great pressure on Wilson which he wasnt typically used to. Much better than we thought with the preseason.

-Offense struggled to find a rhythm but i really dont think you can put all the blame on Shula. Sure we didnt heave the ball down field and let cam sling for 400 yards but the only thing that matters is we were in a position to win. I think the offense was simple, watered down, boring, but it minimized potential mistakes. Late in the game when we had to drive to take the lead, we continued what the game had dictated in the previous 3 quarters and it was working.

- DeAngelo let us down. Say what you want, but the dude doesnt put the ball on the ground in those situations 9/10 times. There is no question in my mind that we would have won the game if he held on to it.

- Olsen/Smitty did pretty well, but we need to spread the ball around. Olsen dropped a couple key passes but they were very tricky catches to make. We need to throw deep more, especially with Ginn. If we complete a few passes to Ginn or Lafell down field, defenses will have to stop rolling coverage over to smitty and we will be able to open up the rest of the offense.

- Cam needs to step into his throws more. He also needs to speed up his internal clock, at times he got caught staring down field in the pocket too long, but as soon as he starts to scramble he no longer looks down field. He needs to find his balance.

This is my reaction while the huddle overreacts to our first game:

ps does every person's thoughts deserve a thread? no one cares about this rambling bullshit.

No one cares a out your thoughts on how pointless this bullshit is. Personally, I couldn't disagree with Gucci Maynes thoughts more. We came out flat( preseason offense wasn't vanilla, that was just our offense) . We couldve taken chances to score in this game as good as our D is. We are now a conservative team with a great defense. Before, we were a high powered offense with an iffy defense but why do we have to have a trade off? We don't.

De Lo should blame himself, they were on a game winning drive and he's carry the ball like a loaf of bread. And yes the coach sucks, should have been fired last year. Their the only team in the NFL who can dominate a game like that and still find away to lose it. Im a Panther for life but IM SICK AND TIRED OF THE SAME OLD SONG AND DANCE.. freaking stop giving games away .. PERIOD ..

    • It can happen but it’s nothing like the NBA. One player doesn’t make the difference in the NFL that one player can in the NBA. Also, there are just not the same amount of trades and even opportunities. Because the NFL isn’t just one stud away, you don’t get a lot of opportunities like Miami did with Tua or the Jets did with Zach Wilson. Both teams got multiple 1sts for players they traded (Jets had 5 1sts in 2021-2022 and Miami had 5 1sts in 2020-2021) and both got top 5 picks to select a QB. They both made some good and bad picks but Miami turned Tua into multiple playoff appearances even though Tua isn’t elite. Wilson was just so bad that the Jets still sucked. We had our opportunity in 2022 where we would have had 6 1sts and 4 2nds in 2023-2025 and probably had a top 5 pick in 2023 or 2024 for a QB without trading up. Unfortunately, Fitterer didn’t have the foresight to realize a full rebuild was necessary and when a team offers you 2 1sts and a 2nd for a non-QB like Tunsil and Burns, you take it. One thing I wish trades had in the NFL that they have in the NBA is protected picks. A moron like Fitterer could have a top 5 protected pick so his terrible GMing doesn’t accidentally give the Bears the #1 overall pick because the moron Fitterer incorrectly thought we were 1 player away from the playoffs.
    • Anyone that believes getting a couple late season wins to end the season at 4-13 while picking 9th in each round, other than 2-15 with the 1st pick in each round is not being realistic.  It happens nearly every other year, Jags gave the browns a insane package to move from 2nd to 5th. If not for late season pointless/everyone forgets late season wins the Panthers would have gotten that franchise changing package. Not to mention Panthers would have had Herbo and Sewell in other years, but nope. Do I need to bring up da bears??? The goal is long term winning in order to make the playoffs, one season to tank could spark it with a Burrow that's gets sacked 60 times on the way to a SB.  I want to win as bad as anyone, but the second the Panthers are eliminated from playoff contention, the ONLY solution is to lose the remaining games to gain a better chance to never do that again. No other answer.
    • Looks like Dallas will be week 6..   It's likely going to be a late late late BYE week, ugh Last game of season @ tampa (warm-ish weather game, hopefully.  Well, not "cold", at least)
