Away game safety

I had a great time at the Meadowlands in the 2006 playoff game.  Got some grief at first but once the beatdown began they left us alone.  After the game they were nice and wished us luck.

Oakland on the other hand was pretty scary.  They don't fug around over there.

Again thanks to all of you. I figured that about Oakland and Philly, and both places are not on my travel plans in the future.

On the other hand, If I spend more than 100 bucs for a three hour entertainment then I can expect to be treated with respect. And if someone tries to fug with me then I can expect the stadium security to take care of that. I am not interested in getting in any fights, I want to watch football and support my team, I want to have a good time and nothing else than that.

All my experiences in the past (one away game, three in Charlotte) were great, 99% of the people were cool, everyone had a great time, no matter which team they rootet for. Much different here in Germany when you visit a Bundesliga soccer game. It´s not like you are in the middle of a riot, but still a whole different attitude.

Darn, I look forward to my trips come October and November, first the Rams game, then the Bucs on Thursday night and later the one in Miami. I hope the Thursday night game has a better fall out than the last TNG I attended a year ago. Erased it from my memories for some reason  :o .

Florida is home to some of the most incredibly slow people you can imagine.

I would like to say that you bringing a child and staying sober would equal zero problems. But Floridiots - they're too unpredictable.

That being said, Panthers fans usually take over Raymond James Stadium anyway. Not sure about Miami.

We attended a Falcons-Panthers game in BOA a few years ago (Delhomme went no-huddle for most of the game if memory serves well.... and we won).  I was with my 16 year old son (birthday present, see picture) and we had great seats in section 135 (third row).  Great atmosphere ... but the drunk aYKW Pantherfan (??!!) sitting right in front of us spoiled the fun a bit.  I like my adult beverages ... but if you ever catch me behaving like that moron you have my permission to carry me out of the stadium (or anywhere else for that matter) and drop me off at the nearest wastewater treatment plant.

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
