Jim Furyk Shoots 59

Anybodyhome

Recommended Posts

Shot a -12 (59) to share the lead at -11. He had an uneventful +1 (72) in his first round yesterday. Golf Channel finally caught on when he was -6 thru his first 6 holes...

Golf Channel BMW Championship outside Chicago.

Fired a 28 front nine and 31 back. Stuck his approach on 18 to 3'9" for an easy birdie and a history-sharing 59. The 6th tour player to ever card a 59 in a tourney.

And Tiger just got a 2-stroke penalty for his score on #1, which was already a double bogey 6. Now it's an 8 on #1 and his 2nd round score is a 72.

Seems when he hit his approach over the green into the trees on #1, he went in and while he was moving twigs around the ball, the ball moved and he didn't replace it. There was video of the ball moving and Slugger White, the PGA Tour Rules Czar gave him the news in the scoring trailer after his round. Reporters say they heard a loud thump and White would neither confirm nor deny Woods punched a wall in the scoring trailer.

I saw a note that said he's protesting the penalty.

I don't know that the PGA Tour has an appeal process for penalties assessed for rule violations. This could be a first.

And you know me, I'm laughing at all of this because I do not like Tiger in the least..... but I think I've made that clear here in the past. Great golfer, jerk-off person.

You guys are worse than ESPN.

Furyk 59=Tiger talk.  :D

Well done Jimmy.

Not really, because ESPN led off their SportsCenter coverage showing Tiger make a putt, miss a putt, miss another putt and then they showed a couple shots by then leader Snedeker before saying anything about Furyk.

Really? Furyk shoots a 59, Tiger shoots a 74, and ESPN leads with the +2 Tiger Woods round.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
