On the Cheap...another wasted season brought to you courtesy of Richardson

I dont think he went out in search of a HC with a low budget in mind i think his thought process was he wanted someone with an experienced defensive mind to come in because JR has always been about the D.

Who was available when we were hiring that was a high value coach?

Pete Carroll in 2010 when we let Fox stick around as a lame duck. Harbaugh when we hired Rivera, and Chip Kelly in this off season who is an absolute slam dunk fit with our QB.  JR's coaching search was cheap as hell. There's really no way to justify not going after a dynamic Head Coach when we had the #1 pick in the draft and basically a clean slate in 2011...

Let's be real honest here.

The smart move was to:

1. Usher both Hurney and Fox out the door at the same time.

2. Find a true "football guy" to be the GM, and let him run the show with none oversight that we all think has been going on here.

3. Get a real offensive guy to either be the HC or be a highly paid OC to help Cam progress.

4. Win playoff games.

I think we were looking for a new HC because Fox wasnt producing any W's. The same reason we are going to be looking for a new HC next year.

Fox went into 2010 knowing he wasn't being brought back. Big Cat said as much during his presser in 11. He said he wasn't going to pay 12 million to buy Fox and his staff out, and then have to go and get a new coaching staff too. That is the definition of cheap when you have a billion dollar business....

2010 & and last year doesn't count because we had a coach so you cant say being cheap has anything to do with that.

I agree Harbaugh would have been a much better choice but the reality is he was going to SF and we never stood a chance at signing him on, What other high value coach was on the market he could of paid up for?

You have a coach who wasn't getting it done, and you're not willing to spend the money to get a guy who can.  That actually is the definition of cheap man....

Honestly im not sure if hes stuck in the past or if hes just that cheap. Either way, hes an awful owner that good coaches dont want anything to do with. I dont think we had a shot in hell getting pete or harbaugh.

We didn't even try though. That's what the problem is.

Who was there to spend money on????

Harbaugh wasnt coming here......

He had a clean fuging slate and the #1 pick. Unless JR wasn't willing to give him personnel control that's a pretty nice setup.  Keep saying he wasn't coming here, but the fact is we didn't even try to bring him here....

    • 10 years ago, the reactions to this thread would have at the least made me question myself and what I’m seeing in my evaluation versus what I’m feeling.  But not now.  I know where this mentality comes from and we’re seeing unfold in real-time, everyday in society.  Call someone else dumb while any and all statistics supports their argument, but if you just keep doubling down, you can make people forget about facts. It’s also why my replies to this despite 16 pages have been pretty sparse outside of one, and that post was mostly ignored because it called the BS out for what it is.     I don’t take it personal, because I know for them, it is VERY personal.  Not a person alive on this planet is going to tell me, nor convince me, that any other starter in the NFL isn’t more physically talented than Bryce.  We have all read and seen the stats - 32nd out of 32 starters since being drafted.  We have watched the games.  Countless games where Bryce struggles to hit 100 yards until the 4th.  Countless times he fumbles untouched, trips over his own feet, under throws or throws behind, or just throws straight to a defender who has been lurking in the same spot from the snap.  But, there is this mysterious ancient metric that us simpletons have not gained access to, that makes him better than the stats and eye test combined.🤣🤣🤣 Kyler Murray is wildly physically gifted, but specially for his size.  He has a laser arm, and he’s a quick, twitchy athlete.  Baseball background, multi-sport star.  And he’s statistically better than Bryce.  In my observations and estimation, his only downside is I don’t think he has ever applied himself and he doesn’t prepare as he should.  He relies on his talent alone, and I think that also carries over to questions about leadership.  But, all of that considered, these guys don’t want him over Bryce.  So again, I ask why?  The same logic is applied to Shedeur.  Hell, I would apply the same logic to Brissett.  Jameis.  Any fuging body with physical talented to throw a football.  If you have the worst starter in the league, proven over almost three full years, what do you owe him?  Hint: It’s not another year.  One can deduce from that point that you could easily find a replacement that will give you better production, even from someone who go isn’t a current starter.     I knew society had gotten dumber, but damn…  “don’t tell me what’s better!  I want to keep fuging myself and nobody can stop me!”🤣🤣🤣
