Bobcat heavily pursuing Brandon Bass

Recommended Posts

Source: Charlotte Observer

The Bobcats are interested in free agent forward Brandon Bass, though with DeSagana Diop, Nazr Mohammed and Vladimir Radmanovic under contract, they might need a sign-and-trade to acquire him.

Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports that Bass has been offered a five-year deal worth more than $25 million, though it isn't clear which team made the offer (probably not Charlotte). Other teams interested in Bass include the Mavericks, Magic, and Hornets.

8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench this season. Tough, quicker than most 4s, has range to 15 feet, can finish on the break.

My pet peeve basketball phrase. You are SUPPOSED to finish on the break.

Its nuts that a guy like Brandon Bass can command 5 million bucks a year (avg). The guy is a utility player at best. The Cats need to not succumb to a weak free agent pool and develop the players they already have at the position.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
