QB statistics

Ironically, Cam's rating is identical to Luck's.

Wish I had something witty to add, but I don't.

With 1 more TD pass... in one less game.

Luck's QB rating is as high as Cam's because of his greater attempts/yardage.

I'll gladly sacrifice overall yardage stats for a higher TD/attempt stat.

Maybe Cam should be like some of the other QBs, like Brew Brees, and pad his QBR stats by throwing no matter what. But folks would be labeling him as "selfish and me first." Funny how that works....

Rivera will never allow Cam to do that.

That's another thing with Cam: All/Most of his stats are EARNED. That's more than what you can say, about so many of other QB's, especially the "Young Guns".

The Panthers have been in the overwhelming majority of their games (many will say, because of Cam's presence), despite their losing record. And we all know, since Cam's first year (when the team was involved in high scoring games, and had no expectations) Rivera will always slow down the offense in the second half with the scantest of leads. Too many times, Cam will have 150 yds in the first half (OAK 2012, for ex), to end the second half with 70 or so, cause Rivera wants to take the air out the ball, cause he feels a 7-13 pt lead is enough to start the half. SMH

And the few blow outs that the Panthers experienced (either way), Rivera will take Cam out.

Imagine how many more yards, wins and TDs (even), if  Cam had an offensive minded coach??

After the 4th week of the season (not counting tonights game), Cam Newton is tied for 11th in the NFL in QB Rating with The God Child Andrew Luck with a QBR of 91.9. This is a higher QBR than Tom Brady, RG1-3, Jay Cutler, Andy Dalton, Sam Bradford, Colin Kaepernick, Joe Flacco, and Eli Manning.

Cam is also tied for 12th in TD passes along with RG1-3, Russell Wilson, and Eli Mannng, and more than Andy Dalton, Colin Kaepernick, and Andrew Luck (with each of those QBs having played one extra game).

If Rivera/Shula keep opening up and being aggressive with this offense, Cam's year will be trending UP.

And that's not just good for Cam. That's good for the TEAM.

QB ratings are nice, but it's the wins that count.  3-1 (Colts) vs 1-2 Panthers.

Of course, Peyton Manning, who is playing lights out with the Broncos, is tops of the QB ranking and 4-0!

QB ratings are individual stats while wins are team stats.  Quarterbacks can play great but their team can lose while other guys can play poorly and their teams still win.  You want to tell me Carson Palmer is a better quarterback than Cam because they are 2-2 and we are 1-2???

For reference Cam has 6 Tds and 2 Int and a passer rating of 91 in 3 games while Palmer has 4 TDs and 6 INTs and a passer rating of 69 in 4 games.   Yep wins sure tell who the better quarterback is.

Team wins are a different stat all together and deserve it's own thread. This thread is specifically about Qb stats. Stay on topic.

Yeah, that 159 yards passing and zero TD passes sure gave him an impressive win versus San Francisco.

The Colts only won because of Andrew Luck and his incredible QB prowess.

Andrew Luck's win and Andrew Luck's win alone.

Yessiree bob.
