Zac Brown Band?

Just out of curiosity, was anyone else at the ZBB concert in Charlotte last night?

It was my first ever country concert, and good lord they tore the house down. I was floored by how talented they were and how great of a show those guys put on.

When they ended the encore with a long cover of Devil Went Down To Georgia and the fiddler was shredding while Zac Brown was lighting it up with his guitar. It blew my mind.

Zac Brown Band is not a country band... they are a jam band that gets played on country radio stations.

Well since most country these days is practically pop, I don't know how you can eliminate ZBB from being country.

This kind of stuff sounds pretty country if you ask me, but I am by no means a country music expert.

They used to play at Merle Fest every year. One of the guys who worked at pepsi with me, said he tried to get an autogragh twice but Zach was a douche. Makes you wonder....

i've heard similar stories

the band recently played at the Lockin' Festival as a guest for The String Cheese Incident.  SCI normally streams all of their shows, but the set that was played with ZBB wasn't  aired or released for download after the fact because of them... i'm sure label is to blame on that front as well, but still not the norm imo

Big fan of Blackberry Smoke, who have been touring the bar scene across the southeast for several years. Saw them at the Bucked Up Saloon in Kernersville about 4 years ago, Ziggy's in Winston a couple times as recently as 6 months ago and they're playing the Turn 5 Concert the night before the Martinsville race in a couple weeks- we'll be there.

Zac Brown took them on tour a year or so ago and BBS is now out on their own again. Not thinking it all worked out like the hoped.

Give Blackberry Smoke a listen:

    • Seems to me that the Bucs have less fight in them now than they had in week 16. The real test is going to be if the Panthers can sustain focus and discipline throughout. With the Bucs being at home, maybe that gives them a little boost of confidence and energy.  Wouldn’t it be something if for ONCE the Panthers came out and dominated from the opening snap and just took this shook Bucs team to task?  If the Panthers see-saw form follows, we are in line for the W. Hard to say we have momentum but we do have a pretty clear pattern of following a loss with a win.  I’m going to say 24-16 Panthers!!
    • When Parcell’s said Bryce better “walk on water”…..the implied concern wasn’t that the tiny QB could survive being hit.  It was acknowledging he would have to be extremely special to overcome the handicaps he would face at this level.  Which he isn’t and can’t.  which isn’t just being hit.  It’s being able to play in an NFL pocket and make NFL throws from it….and that ultimately is Bryce’s problem.  He doesn’t play well from a NFL pocket and can’t make all the throws as needed.  He can’t see as others can.  Which impacts the throws he does and doesn’t take.  It also impacts him bailing and killing plays and turning them into scrambles/dead plays
    • 9:30 kick off here in Scotland, which is better than the 01:20 early hours of Monday that I feared. Will definitely be watching, but probably wouldn't if it had been 0120 as I need to be up for work at 05:45. Falcons Saints is 6pm on the Sunday so will watch that too if it becomes relevant
