The Young Quarterbacks

MNF did 5 best young QB's last night as:

1. Andrew Luck

2. Russel Wilson

3. Colin Kaepernick

4. Robert Griffin III

5. Cam Newton

They thought Cam fits #5 or lower. Then RG3 could/should be higher. Some of the analysts say they could have Colin at #2. And some analysts thought Tannehill should be included and Wilson off or possibly Cam. one of them saying that most of these young QB's rely on one system to succeed and will not last long in the NFL.

It's hard to compare Cam against these QB's from 2012 - since Cams been in longer and has more data/stats to lower his avgs give or take. But, whatever.

Yes someone pointed that out already. Doesn't change the conclusion

It is largely irrelevant. Nobody says anything about him doing it, and nobody said anything about Teb0w's praying celebration.

Of all the things to be concerned about. It's dead last on the list.

Damn these mother fugers fumble a lot.  Either that or Cam has remarkably good ball security, especially considering he runs a good deal.

he had great ball security. i think he's going to get strip sacked half the time and he just rips the ball down and takes off.

remember that 7 yard TD run he had against the vikings this past sunday? he's just too strong.

They do and they did (especially The Golden Calf of Bristol, you must live under a rock if you don't recall people taking sides on that one.)

Luck and Wilson look legitimate.

Kaepernick? Still up in the air.

Griffin? I think he's the prototypical 'highlight' quarterback. He has the occasional highlight reel play that makes him look amazing, as long as you don't see what happened after that. And yes, he's fragile, painfully so. If he makes it through five years of playing in the NFL, I'll be shocked.

And then there's Newton...

There are certainly games where he looks like he has it all together. Unfortunately, there are also those games where you wonder what happened to that guy that looked like he had it all together

His biggest challenges right now: gaining a greater level of consistency and dealing with adversity. If he can do those things, then he can get on the rollercoaster.

If he can't...not sure what happens next.

Pretty much this. I would also like to see his attitude and leadership continue to improve which I think it has already.

If anyone got upset about the Teb0w thing it was because of the religious aspect, not because he had the audacity to celebrate. I'm not sure if you have, but I haven't heard many people if any at all upset about Kaepernick celebrating. I've heard more about his tattoos.

Funny one of those articles you linked referred to Cam as "scam". There are things behind it that I won't delve into in this sub forum.

That was my exact point. And you understand why right?

You aren't going to say "because he wins" are you? Kaepernick has actually come back down to earth so far this season, if you've seen him play. Sure, of course wins help. That doesn't excuse or legitimize much of the ignorance our quarterback receives though.

Ultimately it's a team sport, wins are a team statistic. Guys like Kaepernick and Wilson play on immensely talented teams, with highly capable coaches, and more often than not they are simply asked to just not make critical mistakes, instead of shouldering the load.
