bP's Pre-Season Power Rankings

MIA - Did not improve in areas of need from last year's run. If either Oden or Beasley can prove to be worth anything, the team might have a chance at a 3-pete

CHI - Rose sat out to make sure he was ready. Deng and Noah should be back to full health. Adding Jimmy Butler to the mix with Rose will be huge.

IND - Still didn't see them gain a swing player that can create off the dribble. Granger will be traded for (inset PG here).

SAS - Everyone is waiting for the Spurs to slip into a grave, but forget Parker is still young and Leonard is aswell. If he takes that next step, watch out!

LAC - Doc, Paul, Jordan and Blake. If they can gel and get along they will make a run but need more scoring options.

HOU - Howard might be able to push this team to the top of the West if he plays like his days in Orlando. He never had someone of Harden's caliber there

OKC - Westbrook needs to come back soon, hopefully he doesn't rush it. Durant will put this team on his back. They need to flip Perkins for someone else.

BRK - Interesting team to watch cause it's basically an Allstar Roster from 3 years ago. Garnett and Pierce will only play 60 games but turn it up in playoffs.

GSW - Iggy will be a perfect match with Curry. Bogut and David Lee will have to be healthy for them to make noise in the playoffs.

DET - Biggest team jump from mediocrity to being extremely relevant. I really like their roster to bang with the rest of the East and give them fits.

----------

MEM - Who is scoring on this team? Who is their coach now? Will they make it out of the first round of the playoffs?

NYK - I might hav them low, but can't trust JR and Melo and Amare and Felton and Chandler and.. oh yeah, Metta. I cannot trust them to keep it together

DEN - Iggy getting away was bad, but the Manimal with another year will be good. I just don't see a contender in this squad, but a playoff team- yes.

POR - Lillard was such a bright spot last year for them. Look for a little let down. But not enough to rob us of their 1st rounder :)

WAS - I would have had them borderline playoff/on the bubble without the Gortat trade. Now that is done- look for them to be the 6-7 seed

CLE - IF Bynum can play 60 games in the regular season- they make the playoffs. Done.

----- end of playoffs teams -----

ATL - Millsap was a steal. But I don't see them making a moves for a playoff run. Horford needs to go to OKC... :)

MIL - I actually like this team to make a push for the 8th spot in the East. They have a lot of talent.

MIN - Probably have this squad a little low, but until I see Rubio and Love play together for mare than 2 games, they don't have my vote of confidence.

NO - This is the sexy pick for a lot of people but I can't get behind all three "shoot first" point guards they have on their roster.

-----------

DAL - Dirk might go for MVP or scoring title, but the balance is not there on this team. Defense will lose them games.

LAL - Excitement that Shannon Brown coming back to LAL (which is a rumor now that he was waived by the Wiz) should tell you how bad this team is.

CHA - Jefferson will give us a competitive team- no more 40 point blowouts!!! yay!!! but still need another scorer on the perimeter. Flip MKG for Granger at deadline?

SAC - everyone that could jump ship on this team did in the offseason. Lottery pick to pair with Boogie will be great.

TOR - Rudy Gay- where will he go?

UTH - Trey Burke coming back will help them this year but they are in the hunt for Wiggins.

BOS - Wiggins

ORL - Wiggins

PHO - Wiggins

PHI - Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed with a lot of you list.

I see your Horford to OKC idea, and would love it. But I think if he's moved, it's to Chicago.

This year will be interesting, as I think the team's in the middle ground will have tough decisions to make. Compete for the 8th seed in the playoffs (at best in many cases), or start tanking once their record starts dropping.  By year's end, could be as many as 10 teams flat out tanking IMO.

    • If you're looking for a pat on the back it sounds good in theory until you realize they also had the 2023 Panthers as the top draft class.
    • Going into the 2003 and 2015 seasons we were supposed to be the joke of the league each time. In 2003, John Fox was supposed to still be in rebuild mode. We had a guy named Peppers on the defensive line who was supposed to be pretty good. We had Rodney Peete as our starting QB and a line that was a lot of hope and not much experience. Our new running back was a guy the Redskins, errrr Commanders, had jettisoned for being too old. We had a good kicker and writers thought that was needed because there were going to be more field goals than touch downs. Heck, it looked like they were right up until just before halftime of that first game when we had to yank Rodney Peete and put in some Cajun duded whose name couldn't be pronounced. And Steve Smith? He wasn't Smitty yet. Moose Muhammad, well, he was close to being written off as a bust. You know how that turned out. And then in 2015, we had Cam Newton, who was electrifying to watch but hadn't really won anything yet. There was an offensive line in front of him that looked like it was made in a defunct Swiss cheese factory and our big hope on offense was the great Kelvin Benjamin. And then he got taken out for the year with a knee injury in training camp. Ted "Feet of Lightning, Hands of Stone" Ginn became our default go to guy beside our next best hope, yeah, Devin Funchess. Our defense was pretty good, a scrappy bunch with frikkin' awesome linebacker play and a cornerback who had done more than drank the Kool-Aid, but had snorted the powder. He played like a superhero and became sort of a bat-man during the season. By the Super Bowl he had completely lost his freaking mind, though, and managed to talk his way out of a contract with the team next year. No one was expecting us to win the NFCSouth that season, much less almost go undefeated and into the Super Bowl. So, 2026? Who knows? But our best seasons came when no one had a reason to believe in us, except us.
    • it's not so much this personal vendetta against the Carolina Panthers as it is more about Bryce Young never not once been in the same conversation with the top 15 or even top 20 Qbs in the NFL ..just saying
