Any Huddle Whovians out there?

Wondering if anyone else from the Huddle watches Doctor Who? I got into it back in 2011 and binge-watched every season until then. If you're a Huddle Whovian, sign in here!

So, if you haven't seen it... Give it a try! It takes a few episodes to really get in to it (acquired taste as it is a British show) but if Si-Fi, time travel, action, and a healthy dose of comedy is your thing... You'll love it as I have.

And the 50th Anniversary Special Airs in 8 days!

I have JUST NOW stumbled into this section of the Huddle. (I usually never leave the Panthers Section) Little did I realize that there is a Nerdvana and it's my kinda place!

Big fan of the original series.  Started watching with Tom Baker.  Drifted away with Peter Davison though.

Don't catch every episode these days, but loved David Tennant.  So so on Matt Smith.

I do love that they've gone back to revisit old companions and enemies.

I'm not old enough to have caught much of the Classic Who (although I have downloaded a lot of it and watched as much of the 1st doctor as I could find so far).

I have seen all of NuWho and Tennant was by-far my favorite. Smith has grown on me but with the new regen coming in after the 50th, I'll have to see how he does.

I started watching some months ago but stopped at in the first season of Matt Smith.  I need to catch up.  I miss Tennant, he was my favorite.  It's definitely an acquired taste but it's worth it.  Some episodes aren't the best but some are really good sci-fi and generally good tv.

I was hoping to be caught up on Who and Torchwood (need to watch last season of Torchwood) before the 50th annivers but that's not going to happen I don't think.

I never watched Torchwood. I went straight from Tennant to Smith. Most Doctor Who is on Netflix until this last season. But I'm sure once the new season begins they will add season 7. Smith wasn't near as good as Tennant but there was still some great story lines. And Amy, Rory, and River are my favorite companions (only behind Rose and Jack).

Get half way threw season 7 and I bet they will show the second half leading up to the 50th.

I have them all downloaded and waiting on me, just gotta watch season 6 and last Torchwood before hitting 7.  Just finished episode 6 on season 6 so I need to knock out Torchwood season 4 and then go back and finish 6.

I just can't get into Matt Smith.  He's not bad, but Tennant and the writing on those seasons was just sooo much better.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just finished episode 5 of season 7/Christmas special.  Angels Take Manhattan was a good episode, but that came really out of no where how they did that with Rory and Amy.   The Angels usually always have a good episode though.  So far I like Clara though and I don't really miss Rory.

    • I'm salty every time I see someones mid picks become stars while we throw first and second rounders over and over and they all stink outside of Tet (who still has a lot to prove, imo)
    • There is a contingent that is total Bryce but they weathervane with the wind. When the good Bryce wind blows about once or twice a month we hear a lot from them. But they are always pro Bryce, they just don’t pipe up too much when he sucks. I can’t speak for them, as far as what they are looking at.    In a second contingent, the collective mind is made up. He has had had basically three years worth of starts that might include a top tier outing or two, a few second tier outings, offset by about the same number of bottom tier outings which actually may have the edge there.  The rest of his stuff is third tier and that is going to be the bulk of his starts. We want to move on. And we aren’t getting off of that hill until he puts us off of it. He has not.    There is a third contingent that has no conviction and definitely weather vanes. Bryce is good. Bryce isn’t good. Depending on the latest game. They will buy into 7 on 7 success so that should tell you something.
    • Nacua is really fuging good. He might be a better version of Cooper Kupp.
