I don't care for Skip Gay less so I'm not watching. I'm just gonna assume he acted like he knew everything about Cam and how he hasn't done anything because the defense. I can't believe people still watch that trash. That guy is such a tool.

I pointed out other celebrations that aren't targeted, both current and past, by non-white athletes. Others have added more. What about Ray Ray's game opening dance? No one ever said poo.

My point is that there are plenty of dances and celebrations by athletes white and not that are not targeted, therefore this is not a race thing. The media targets Cam, not his skin.

This is not the only recent post that pointed out race. I've read several this week where people are complaining about media being racist against cam, including a comparison of young QBs, where the only one on the entire damn list who was white was Luck.

 

Folks want to believe those in the media are above such things as showing blantant discrimination to these players. I don't know why..Especially when there is a more than enough history on  the selective treatment by the media towards certain players.

I'm too young to remember. Did the media/fans hate Deion Sanders when he was dancing and wearing doo rags? As a child I loved Deion and I bet Cam did to. You see the same showmanship. The same child like excitement. Some people are in a box and anything outside the box irritates them to no end.

Pretty difficult to compare. Sports talk when Deion played was far more limited, nothing like the behemoth industry that exists today.

There were definitely people that didn't like him, but it's apples to oranges.

btw...I like the superman pose and the pregame airplane, never said I didn't. I think very highly of Cam, even though I've never met him. He seems to enjoy life, doesn't whine and appreciate where he is. Despite what has been force fed us, I believe he is a genuine person. I agree with the 'trained by the media' point above, just not that it's racially motivated. Success begets jealousy, and there is a lot about Cam to generate jealousy.

I know alot of people in my area had a problem with Neon Dion (which was his original handle) so I was kinda trained to hate him as a kid.

The older I got the more I appreciated the guy and now I think his is great as an analyst (of that's what one wants to call it)

BTW: My area is western N.C. about an hour northwest of Asheville.

I reported on this earlier before a first take video was posted. 

 

This whole "Maturation" thing is nonsense. 

 

Last year, RG3 went to the playoffs and was clearly not mature enough. 

 

This year, Colin Kaepernick's team is 8-4, despite his outright juvenilism, insecurity, and (cough cough) Immaturity. 

 

Why? Because both players teams around them are doing their jobs to help them win. Sometimes they do the job themselves as well. 

 

Cam has learned to handle adversity better on the field. But whether he's immature or not (on or off the court), he could still win. So the focus on it (as to why the Panthers are all of a sudden winning), is absolute nonsense. What Cam did, was GET BETTER IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS, he wasn't as great at last year. And [maybe even more important] the team around him (HC, OC, Defense, Special Teams; Turnovers) improved!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

The Point Is: You can be immature and still perform well and/or win. However, the Panthers are winning, cause Cam, Riverboat Ron, The OC, The Defense, Special Teams, Turnovers ratio, etc., are performing better (particularly the latter after Cam), while the running game, offensive lines, and WR's have been inconsistent, though productive.

That is, the vast majority of the time, the reason most people hate (or love) a particular player.

stephen loves cam because of one reason regardless if he was bad or good. which is fine but i HATE how the media has made him.. so when I talk to dumb people who ONLY watch espn ect (which is 87 percent of people) always talk poo.  Cam has more potential in this league than ANYYYYONEEE IMO

Old Crusty White Guys, like Mike Francesca, of WFAN NY, hated and misunderstood Deon, cause they couldn't handle the bling and Swag. Meanwhile, Deon was always loved by his teammates, where ever he played.
