Gary Kubiak fired

How did the Texans go from so good to so bad so fast?  That's crazy.

Well, they started the season with two wins then the shakiness at the QB  position, along with injuries to TE Owen Daniels, S Danieal Manning, LB Brian Cushing and RB  Arian Foster helped to cripple to club, leading to an elven game losing streak.

This paved the ouster of  HC Gary Kubiak  who had a  61-64 record, with a 2-2 mark in the postseason.

The injuries to Cushing and Foster were big, and Daniels is good too... but I still don't see this epic collapse just from that.

if you have no QB, you have no chance in the NFL, no matter how wondrous a coach you are. Schaub has been a productive and playoff-worthy QB in this league, and Kubiak  seemed helpless to restore Schaub's game and stabilize Houston's rapidly sinking season. It would be ironic if Kubiak was hired in large part because he knew his way around the game's most pivotal position, and then was fired because he couldn't fix the fatal flaws of his own starter, dragging down his entire team in the process.

The immensely talented but woefully underachieving Houston  team had sprung multiple leaks and sank lower and lower, with problems that involved more than just shaky quarterbacking. For starters, what happened to the Texans' once-dominant defense that coordinator Wade Phillips had breathing fire for most of the past two seasons? Like Kubiak, Phillips as a head coach in Denver, Buffalo and Dallas often struggled to stop the bleeding once his teams started losing. The problem-solving skills of both coaches had left a lot to be desired this year.

But when the sky starts falling, that's exactly when a coach is expected to find solutions and execute some season-saving maneuvers that help his team find its way out of its funk. The best ones figure out how to get the losing streak stopped, and start piecing the puzzle back together as quickly as possible.Undoubtly Kubiak couldn't do that.

    • I think i like the Oregon Safety better
    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
