OT prospect for the 1st round

IMO I think what they mean by "dynamic corner" is a Patrick Peterson, Joe Haden type. Correct me if I'm wrong. Perhaps no top 10 overall corners, but we've known that. Dennard, Gilbert, and Ifo may not be Deion Sanders, but if all the "top" OT's and WR's are off the board at 32 (which I don't think will happen) any of the "top" corners would be d@mn good value at 32.

IF the above scenario happens, I would strongly prefer we go with the corner since the OT and WR classes are much deeper.

Yup, agree.

I would love to have Dennard, Ifo, Verrett, or Gilbert in the late 1st.

The OT, WR, and CB classes are all deep in this upcoming draft.

also for those who want a corner in the first two round...

"This is not going to be a great corner group," one scout said. "It really isn't. There's really no dynamic corner this year."

After teams relished picking from a top-notch safety group in April, this class is inferior.

That one scout must be drunk then. Again, I'm not an expert but this is one of the best corner class I've seen in years. And, that was my opinion early in the season before guys like Dennard and Gilbert was still projected as 2nd rounders.

Of course, there's no PP7 who is going to make stupid scouts' jaws dropped at the combine. Every damn $hit now is about the damn combine. That's why these stupid scouts misses on players like Vontaze Burfict, Kennan Allen, Alfred Morris, etc.

This is a damn damn good corner class led by: Dennard, Gilbert, Ifo, Verrett, and Roby. You're probably going to find something close to a Revis, Winfield, and Samuel from this class.

These dumbass scouts wants to see 5 corners like Louchiez Purifoy in this draft who can return punts for TDs before calling it a great class. The NFL wants to change and they dont want to see the traditional players anymore. They want the so called "dynamic" players.

Patrick Peterson is not even a top 5 corner in the league, but is going to his 2nd Pro Bowl due to ST abilities. He's playing better than last year, but is still Michael Crabtree's bit ch.

thought i would place this nugget in here.Bob McGinn is a packer beat writer who has several plugs inside of the drafting/ scouting world. every year before the draft, he does position breakdowns and is probably the best out there, as far as info giving to him from scouts. his early draft look has lots of info, and is a great read. the position breakdowns before the draft, will actually say what scout, GM, and scouting director are saying about the top prospects.

Matthews is going to be a damn good LT in the NFL. Do agree that he is a little soft, but not going to complain. The kid comes from a football pedigree.

Kouandjio may actually make the fastest transition into the pro. The kid is another long arms OT like his former teammate DJ Fluker.

Lewan is nasty but he needs to improve in some areas.

Ogbuehi is a damn good pass blocker, but I cant ever find a single snap where he isnt pass blocking. I wanna see more run blocking, not blaming him tho.

and here's what he said about receivers

RECEIVERS
The last draft with more than four first-round wide receivers was 2009. After two below-average to poor wideout drafts, this one should be much better.

"Hypothetically, there are seven first-round projections," one scout said.

Juniors Sammy Watkins (6-1, 205) of Clemson, Odell Beckham (5-11, 193) of Louisiana State and Marqise Lee (6-0, 195) of Southern California, and redshirt sophomores Mike Evans (6-5, 225) of Texas A&M and Kelvin Benjamin (6-5, 225) of Florida State head the list.

"Very average as a senior group," said another scout. "The juniors will enhance every position. When you start to see these redshirt sophomores and juniors come out in droves like they have, you're going to rely on them for a draft."

Watkins has 4.35-second speed in the 40-yard dash and excellent hands.

"True playmaker and he's a returner as well," one scout said of Watkins." Lee will be one of the top players in the draft. Very good speed. He was injured a lot this year and didn't have quite the numbers you're looking for, but he's a top-10 pick."

Evans had 65 receptions for 1,322 yards (20.3) and 12 touchdowns.

"More of a strider but very sure-handed," one scout said. "He's got phenomenal size. He understands how to use his size to post up."

Beckham is a precise route runner with superb skill after the catch. Benjamin is talented but raw.

Wisconsin's Jared Abbrederis (6-1, 190) is going to the Senior Bowl after a 73-catch season. He scored 32 on the Wonderlic intelligence test.

"He's going to be drafted in the third or fourth round but will be a competitive player from Day 1," one scout said. "If he goes to Denver or New England, he may catch 80 balls in his rookie year. He runs good routes. He'll be a slot receiver."

Juniors Eric Ebron (6-4, 245) of North Carolina, Austin Seferian-Jenkins (6-6, 276) of Washington and Jace Amaro (6-5, 260) of Texas Tech all have first-round shots at tight end.

"Ebron's a really good athlete," one scout said. "Can run. Outstanding hands. Can run after the catch. He's your receiving tight end. Antonio Gates-like."

Seferian-Jenkins tends to be more of a receiver as well but has the size to grow into a blocker.

"He's going to be close to (Rob) Gronkowski, talent-wise," one scout said. "Now he's lazy. Like there's always something with him. But he can be on the line and block."

Iowa's C.J. Fiedorowicz (6-5½, 265) might be the best senior and should be gone by the third round.

Colt Lyerla (6-5, 250) was arrested for cocaine possession in October several weeks after leaving Oregon as a junior.

"He's the wild card in this whole thing," one scout said. "Extremely talented kid. Is he going to be the Aaron Hernandez kind of player, a first-round talent that somebody got in the fourth? But just a real nightmare in that regard (off the field)."

A huge fan of Landry and Beckham. Both will probably go before our 2nd round pick.

But would love to have Jared Abbrederis as our 3rd round pick.

#55 is an Auburn true freshman.

Ol' Cyrus did the only thing he could do to stop him... he pulled him down with him.

Actually, with that many graded at a 1st round level, that means that there will be a LOT of good receivers available in the 2nd round.

possibly, but there could also be a run on WR.i would much rather we go ahead and get our guy, then hope like hell one falls to us in the 2nd.

To many OL prospects to pass on one. La'el Collins is another guy that is a powerful run blocker that i dont believe would be to much of a reach if Lewan didnt drop. One mock from yahoo had Cameron Erving not being selected in the first. Donte Moncrief would be a hell of a second round pick.
