You Better Get To Know "CALVIN PRYOR"!

If we were to tag and trade Hardy for a 2nd. Then draft Pryor in the 1st and double dip on WR with Robinson (Penn St) and Moncrief (Ole Miss) in the second. In the 3rd look at the OT Moses. Big body, versatile and quick.

In Free agency use the cap space to sign Sam Shields, Giacomini, Golden Tate and possibly an Eric Winston. Resign Mitchell, Gross.

If you look at what I'd like big picture does that make it look like a stronger team on paper addressing all weaknesses?

I think at least we get 2 second rounders for hardy

I think it's certainly plauseable. Given what Allen fetched in a similar situation. If it nets us two second rounders or a second and a third or even a first I think a second is almost guaranteed that's why I used it as a basis. Anything else is gravy.

Let's take our defense to the next level. By next level I mean potentially moving from the second or third best defense to the first or second best defense.

Facepalm.

1. This receiver class is deep

2. I think Cam is good enough to work through it

3. Seattle shows that you need a strong defensive backfield, even more so than a strong front 7.

A guy like Pryor would give us range at the safety at the position and a hard hitter to boot

Safeties like that make the entire back 4 better

Thats the point he shouldn't have to work through it. What other franchise has done less to help there qb than us. None. drafting pryor would be a complete failure.

Do you think that the defense will maintain it's rank without Hardy Mitchell or Mikell?

We'll never know since they'll more than likely be resigned.

I wonder what our offense will be ranked without Gano, Gross, Wharton, Ginn, Hixon, and Lafell. Actually I think Hartsock, Hangartner, Scott, Williams, Campbell, Clausen, and Anderson are also free agents. Good thing we have a GM that can weigh our team needs and decide on who's worth resigning. You know instead of picking names out of a hat.

Wouldn't have blown coverage over top of Boldin, that is for sure

Maybe if we invest in a legitimate CB we could play man without fear of getting burned.

As of right now? With Colin Jones and Robert Lester our starters? Yes I think it's safe to say it's ONE of our biggest weaknesses. It's not OT or WR but it's a concern.

And Godfrey? As of now we have no LT, a 34 yr old Smitty and McNutt as starting WR's, Addison as a starting DE and no replacement for Captain.

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
