Your Favorite Player After The Combine

Pick only one. Who was the one player that impressed you the most at the combine.

For me, it was Jason Verrett (CB, TCU) today. The kid was impressive all afternoon. He tested very well, showed great speed (4.38), and my favorite part of all was his attitude. Verrett came in and was all about competing. Had his game face on the whole time, and didn't even flinch talking to Deion.

Although he didn't have a flashy combine Pryor is still my favorite with Cooks as a close second. I also like Gilbert and Fuller.

I noticed Allen Robinson struggled at the combine he could be there at our second round pick. I agree about Verrett he stood out today

WR: Watkins, Evans, Cooks, Mathews, Lee, Robinson

CB: Gilbert, Fuller, Verrett, Desir, Exum, SJB, McGill

S: Pryor and Clinton-Dix

DL: Aaron Donald, Justin Ellis, Kareem Martin

Didn't get to see the OLinemen but I heard Greg Robinson ran out of the building

I have to say that Clowney's performance at the combine impressed me the most .There should be very little doubt that he should be taken as the 2014 NFL draft's top overall selection. However, Houston is looking for a QB,so this may not happen.

I've been impressed with Clowney too, but I'll be honest and say his 21 reps on the bench are not impressive for a position where strength is key.... his speed makes up for it some I'm sure, but 21 reps at 266 lbs is not very good.

I feel sure the coaches will have Clowney hitting the weights a lot this year. However,Clowney is all about speed and relies very little on the bull rush,so I don't feel his under achieving with the reps is a major concern. Nothing, in my opinion, that can't be worked on and improved.

    • It's definitely a historical issue at QB but to be perfectly blunt, we also don't do a good job of really developing almost any position if you look at the last decade or so. I tend to be on the side of that being far less a development issue than an evaluation deficiency.  I think we are in the situation at QB2/3 recently due to the overall roster being absolutely abhorrent and the QB classes being quite thin. It is harder to justify another Matt Corral(or several) when you can potentially get a real two deep contributor at other positions.  But, it was a lot of hard work to get to the point where are roster is so incredibly bad that luxury picks literally are not in our vocabulary.  This is the reaping what you sow portion of our history.
    • That is what I meant about our front office. They are like someone filling out a March Madness bracket based on preference of uniform colors and mascots. There's no rhyme of reason to some of these fugg'n mind numbing decisions they make.  They go all in on these flimsy-@ss prospects and are gun shy when it comes to more solid prospects.  It's literally maddening and the reason I stopped being so emotionally involved in this team. Heck the only reason I'm active on the board today is one, it's my day off and two, it's cut down time.
