NCFAN's Cam needs help Mock

So it seems Gettleman is going to use the draft to grab Cam some weapons.  Luckily this is one of the deepest WR class's in a while.

1st:  TRADE-  try to trade out of the 1st round and try to grab another 3rd or 4th.

2nd (1st):  Serefin-Jenkins:   We need Blocking And Pass Catchers, might as well grab someone who can do both.  Jenkins while one of the better blocking TE's, also is more than capable as a receiver

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWMQrnlGDkU

2nd (2nd):  Jordan Matthews:  Very solid WR who will only get better under Proehl

3rd: Seantrel Henderson:  Project Player very good athlete and run blocker

Comp pick (via 1st rnd trade):  Donte Moncrief:  Good athlete should develop as a solid WR lined across from Matthews

4th: James Hurst:  Hurst Stock has Fallen due to the leg injury.  Was a Late 1st type LT before the injury.  A healthy Hurst would allow Henderson to play RT and be that solid run blocker like we had with Otah.  Having Jenkins at TE, should help Hurst on the Left side if he struggles early.

5th: Campanaro:  Perfect slot guy to throw in between the 2 bigger WR's.  Wake product who would love to have Proehl coaching him

6th: Aaron Colvin:  Steal here, knee injury will have him dropping down.  Would be a Star type steal in the later round

Good mock but we need to pick up  a OT from 1-3 rounds.

Who are we getting a comp pick from?

I think the moncrief pick is the extra selection we would get from trading out of the first round.

Would love this draft. The only pick I disagree with is Henderson - i think there are better tackles to be taken at that pick (maybe Turner, Mewhort, Hurst). If you flip the pick order between Hurst and Henderson I wouldn't argue though.

I would bust a nut if we pulled this off

An instant top 5 offense

Postmark this to gettleman ASAP

Good god

WR1: Matthews, McNutt

WR2: Moncrief, King

WR3: Campanaro, Hixon

TE1: Olsen

TE2: Jenkins

This unit would instantly be one of the most explosive pass offenses in the NFL, and with Cam tossing the rock????

There is no limit.

Don't have an exact team in mind for a trade, but I expect someone who is suppose to go high to fall

*cough* Teddy Bridgewater *cough

There are 3-4 projected 1st round QB's.  After Bridgwater's pro day, unless he goes top 5, I just don't see a team grabbing him top 10.  After that few teams are in the hunt of a QB causing him to slide down to the bottom (see Aaron Rodgers).  Say a team like Oakland, Jax, etc go something else in the first.  A guy slides down, they may want to jump up and grab him before another team who didnt go QB pulls the trigger on him.  Teams trade up as such every year (remember us jumping up to grab Otah?

The trade is less realistic but dream scenario and is possible

Now I have another mock, more realistic if we stayed put

1st: Odell Beckham jr- Deep threat also can return punts
2nd: Morgan Moses- Big Athletic OT
3rd: Donte Moncrief- Big Athletic WR who Proehl could turn him into a REAL good #2
4th: James Hurst- If returns to full strength will be a huge steal and could possibly move Moses over to RT
5th: Antone Exam
6th: Michael Campanaro- Nice slot WR from Wake who Proehl would have fun mold and coaching up.
7th: Aaron Covin- Steal, knee injury has him pretty much falling off the map.  May miss first part of season recovering from injury.  If healthy a Solid starting corner.

If we trade down, we need to get better OTs IMO.

Drafting a FS would be good too.

Who do you project that we traded with? Considering you have us getting a high 2bnd but late 3rd(after our pick)?

    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
    • I said this ALL last season and will say it again this year. Our record means diddly squat this year, I don't care if we have 0 wins or 17 wins, I only care about one thing and one thing only. Bryce proves without a shadow of a doubt that he IS or ISN'T our long term solution at QB. It's the only thing that matters for the same reason it sucks that this is the same thing as last year.  This needs to be determined, and if they can't determine it, then it's still telling the team the answer, just not the one they want to hear. As right now we're in the ultimate QB purgatory, a position that dooms franchises for years.  Just look at a team like the Cardinals, who extended a better QB and it still screwed them over and haven't had a contending team in a long time. People get too caught up on wins and losses when evaluating players, particularly QBs.  When people look at the final record and use that as a reason to want to extend a QB or not is just a fools errand.  If we had lost 2-3 more games last year because we didn't make a last second FG, I genuinely wonder if we would have just moved on from Bryce this offseason (like we should have been doing anyways IMHO).
