Hybrid Wildcat?

Hybrid Wildcat? Well how would that work? Well as you all know we have a big tall quarterback that can run like the wind, by the name of Cam Newton. Imagine if we had another big tall quarterback that could run even faster AND catch the ball? We do, his name is Joe Webb.

Imagine the look on the face of the opposing defense if we came out with a two QB wildcat package. Hate it or love it I think it would be hilarious. Put Tolbert out there too and you wouldn't know what's about to happen.

the possibilities are endless!!!

This is a terrible idea.

edit: To expand, we saw last year that the wildcat for us was a mediocre running play at best, esp. in the 2nd half of the season.  While Webb may find his way onto the field, I am never in favor of taking the ball completely out of Cam's hands and using him as a distraction. He is our biggest playmaker.

You know, It's really a mystery as to why we signed Webb, it would have made sense if we had of let Anderson walk. if we needed a QB for OTA's we could of just signed a practice squad scrub.

Mike Shula.

That's whole pie worthy bruh.

I don't see us keeping 3 QBs, but I love that he's so versatile. Just can't see them dressing 3 QBs on game day, but of course he could dress as a WR and be the emergency QB.

At the same time, we had a hybrid before (Armanti Edwards) with a much more creative o-coordinator by the name of Chudzinski, and he was never used at all.

As Mr Red said, two words, one name

Mike Shula

You need some one with real talent not just a scrub to take some of the reps Cam will miss.

Plus we need to find a backup QB for the future bc we are bound and determine to get Cam hurt

    • It's not sustainable,  although he deserve credit for the win also, as he made clutch plays as he does with every win we have.
    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
