How have they not proven they can build around him?

We have been buildling around luke thus far, not cam. Just bc our record improved doesn't mean we are building around our qb. You know who is? The colts. You know whose had back to back winning seasons and won the Super Bowl? The colts. So maybe we should start building around cam now that the defense is set

I don't see any poo storm other than here on the huddle. And mist of y'all don't know your head from your ass.

Well continue walking around with your eyes shut then. Go read the Charlotte observer articles about this scenario and go look at the photos taken of the angry mobs outside BoA stadium. And there's no reason to disregard the reations of people on here. Most of the people on here are the die hard fans. You would think their opinions count for more then the bandwagoners we picked up from last season.

Some people are so fuging stupid. Would you rather get paid an extra 10mil over 6 yrs with shitty players around you or still be rich as poo and have damn good wrs and oline. I'm pretty sure cam would rather guarantee himself a trip to canton then buy an extra car

I don't understand the panic about Cam leaving.  He isn't hitting free agency until 2016 at the earliest, do you know who the WRs and oline will be then?  Someone else asked earlier, can you name a franchise QB who left his team when the team wanted to keep him?

Again we are only 4 weeks into the season. Last year we had more holes than we do now and we went 12-4 from 7-9.

Gettleman has shown that he can build a winner and do it in less than 1 year. After this season he will show that we can build a consistent winner as we have a back to back winning season for the first time in our history.

Was Cam briefed last year about the plan? How did that work out? Like Olsen said last week, they saw what Gettleman did last year so they are taking a wait and see attitude. Why not take a page from their play book and do the same. Or do you think you need to briefed as well about what we are going to do in the draft and for the rest of free agency??

We did not have more holes last season, not even close.

How have they not proven they can build around him?

Cam has proven he can carry a team, but just because he can doesn't mean he should.

Andrew Luck has made the playoffs both seasons

Russel Wilson has made the playoffs both seasons and has a Super Bowl ring.

Colin Kaepernick has been to two straight NFC championship games and a Super Bowl.

Andy Dalton, drafted the same year has been to the playoffs every year.

So tell me again how they've built around him and compare it to the talent that those teams have added and not SUBTRACTED since drafting their qbs.

I can't believe this has gone on for 12 pages (may be more by the time I finish this post)

People just can't stop beating a dead horse. We will be fine at WR. Cam is a player, he doesn not need to be asked about roster changes. Our FO knows more about football than anyone here. Cam is not going to leave in FA when the time comes.

Did I cover the basics?

They have built around him by winning the NFC South and going from 6-10 to 12-4

Give this guy the best answer.

    • Ppl want to trade Melo? Am I wrong for thinking that would be a bad idea?
    • Some of you act like one can't learn from experience over time. Just because you may not know what you're doing in 2018 doesn't mean that you don't know what you're doing in 2025. Frankly, you grow from experience, and success and excellence gives first-time applicants the hand probably 99.999% of the time.
    • It's an interesting topic of conversation as sports evolves. I think ultimately it would lead to a number of small market franchises folding though. Especially in the NBA where there are so many bad teams that have been bad for years and years in some cases already. But as it stands I think athlete pay draft or no draft aside has reached a point where we can and should realistically ask should they make that much compared to the average person. Now college athletes is a different conversation but even that reaches a breaking point. But we could go down the rabbit hole on this even further into overall entertainment and talk about actors making absurd sums too. In the end I think in sports the powers that be won't allow these changes to even be considered because it opens the door for so many other variables. But who knows how long sports like football will realistically be around after people like us pass on. We're only just now learning about things like CTE which the league and the sport in general will only be able to run away from for so long. As far as the NBA goes my understanding is viewership has been steadily going down for a number of reasons but one crucial aspect is key players missing so many games. The NBA has to figure that out regardless. Especially when considering fans who pay to see these athletes compete in person. But hey I guess let's just try to appreciate what we've got while it still exists in this form eh?
