I blame Peppers on the economy.

I blame Peppers on the war in Iraq.

I blame Peppers on the traffic on I-81.

Is there anything else I can blame Peppers for, not so much...

A lot of you guys in here need to get off Peppers' jock and look at the team situation. He is taking up an obnoxious amount of cap space and is being severely overpaid. Yes, the front office made the decision to tag him, but if Peppers hadn't been a malcontent and just signed the extension in the first place, we wouldn't be in the bad spot we're in now.

I don't want to hear "He was looking out for himself. He did what he had to do for himself. He has to provide for his family." Are you kidding me? What person on this earth needs $16 million in a year to provide for their family? This argument is total BS. If players did nothing but "look out for themselves," if they had no sense of team loyalty (Peppers), then we would be absolutely screwed. You're kidding yourself if you don't think guys take hometown discounts all the time for the good of the team. Because Peppers was selfish and put his melodrama before his teammates, the team is completely handcuffed financially. That's the facts. Now it's not his fault that Kemo got hurt, injuries happen all the time. But if he had been cooperative and a little more considerate of the team, things would be a lot better right now.

I'm astounded as to how half you guys can defend him so much when he is handicapping this team. I have supported Peppers since he was drafted, but I will always be a Panthers fan first. I don't care who it is, if a player is hurting the team for his own personal gain then he doesn't deserve a verbal blowjob from half the fanbase. Wake up, look at the facts. Peppers is swimming in cash (cash that he hardly deserves) while the FO has to throw pennies around to try to scrape up mediocre depth at O-line and D-line. I hope this guy feels like sh*t every day in the locker room.

If you're angry because Peppers is taking up a lot of salary cap room, then blame the front office for their choice to franchise tag him.

Getting mad at Peppers because he decided to take 16 million dollars that was tendered to him is just idiocy.

Peppers did what's in the best interest for him. Why? Because the Panthers will do the exact same thing for themselves. Pro football is a business. It's said a lot, but it's 100% true. The Panthers did what they thought was best for them (Franchise Peppers) and Peppers followed up with what he thought was best for him (Sign tender and play season).
