What 49ers Fans are Saying

Jan 06 2014 07:04 AM Zod Carolina Panthers
To get a feel for how San Francisco 49er fans view the upcoming matchup, I visited a 49ers message board for enlightenment.

Considering the physical beating the Panthers administered just a few weeks ago, one might assume the 49ers fans to be a humble group.

Not the case.

Here are a few pearls of wisdom from their fan base.

7 wins in a row going into Carolina with a healthy Crabtree and Vernon Davis back, sounds like the roles are reversed from earlier this season, feeling very confident about this one, that were the hottest team in football and I think cam gonna choke considering this his very first playoff game

Crabtree had a good game against Green Bay, but what receivers don't? The Panthers have faced, and beaten, high powered offenses all season at home. This is nothing new for them.

Carolina's crowd is pretty meek compared to Lambeau, you score up twice in the first quarter and the stadium gets quiet (ala Philly).

Statistically, Kap's efficiency rating on the road during both the regular season and post-season trumps that of any young QB remaining in the playoffs (kid has earned his stripes). Cam Newton is the only intangible as this is his first playoff game.

Carolina's crowd has been impressive this year. This is the first playoff game since 2008. It will be 90% Panthers fans and extremely loud.

pantlers have a over rated defense, kaep is gonna have a easy day

I'm not sure who the Pantlers are.

The p*ssycats may have won last time, but they didn't beat us. Roman / Kap helped us lose that game more than anything. This time should be different...

Ah yes, the very same sad sentiment Kaepernick had during his post game after being harassed and beaten by the Panthers. Kaep gave zero credit to the Panthers dominating defense, only suggested they 49ers beat themselves.

Overall, the 49ers fans this season were some of the most worthless to visit the huddle. After a week of less than stellar football talk, none returned after they were beaten.

I expect the same over the next week.

Unless you define shiv as jovially hug.

That thing that looks like a tear drop tattoo....catsup

well i know their crazy coach just called Crabtree "the greatest catcher of all time"

this dude is a lunatic

kap continually overthrew the deep ball and was putting his comebacks and hitches on the receivers numbers instead of high and away. Cap't and Melvin will jump those easily.

Outside of the Swamp Rats, I really don't think there is a fan base more full of themselves. I do enjoy, though, thinking about the 49er fan who bet and lost his life savings on the last time these two teams met. That thought makes this Monday morning one of joy for me.

The overall make up of a San Francisco jerk off is one of hypocrisy and undeserved entitlement.

Non football related, but did yall know that 9 out of the top 11 most polluted cities in America reside in California? Geographically, it is one of the most polluted land masses on the planet.

I hope Kraken dominates that tattooed freak... No spoon.

Davis played last game. Until he got knocked the fug out.

There's not one redeeming quality about 49er fans. They all reflect and ooze the same "charisma" as their QB.

Yup, perfect marriage between a douchebag coach, QB and fanbase.

Living in the golden state, next Sunday will either be the greatest day or the worst day ever.

Ahh we meet again!

I admit, before the first game we played i thought we would dominate you guys. Boy, was I wrong. It wasn't until after that game that the Panthers started getting some serious attention from the national media.

I mean we all knew about Cam and Keuchly but I didn't know much about Davis until he eradicated Kendall Hunter lol.

The battle in the trenches is going to be one for the ages in this game. Our offense is finally 100% even though Greg Roman's playcalling is highly questionable. I thought we should have ran the ball waaaaay more against the packers but whatever, we won.

I still do not worry about you guy's offense...although, yall have Cam and a good pair of RB's, outside of an old, hobbled, Steve Smith there seems to be nothing to really worry about.

I think this game comes down to the battle of the trenches, special teams, and whichever QB makes the most costly mistake(s).

Getting Rick Flair for a speech was a nice touch as well, I know that can't sit well with yall.

Rick Flair is a wife beating drunk.  Will fit right in with the other douchebag niner fans.

I mean Greg Olsen is a pretty damn consistent TE, but sure we don't have anything outside of Smitty. Meh....

Exactly....even our RB's bring the pain.

A somewhat non-arrogant 49ers fan... didn't know such a thing existed.

Mike Tolbert, Ted Ginn and Greg Olsen are something to worry about.

Not sure if the Ric Flair move was a nice touch or cheap bulletin board material for a team that already feels like they have something to prove... I guess we'll see.

BTW, your frequent use of y'all suggest bandwagon... Maiden or Gastonia?

Bet he reads the scouting report this week.

On a serious note, very glad he was okay after that... I had forgotten how bad that looked.

Ahh we meet again!

Panthers offense definitely a concern.  Bye week that we earned was important to help turn that around.

I still don't get the Ric Flair thing.  Doesn't Harbaugh know the history about opposing teams pathetic attempts to get in the Panther heads?  Jets WR calling secondary "weak link", rams scrub db talking poo about Steve's wife and now we get the arrogant niners back in our house.

Glad you're not concerned.

You should be.

I'm from Texas. Became a 49er fan at the tender age 6 when my pops tried to force to me cheer for the Cowboys. That's the short story anyway...

It's hard for me to respect Teddy Ginn as a WR but I must admit he has caught quite a few clutch passes for you guys.

Here's an idea, tackle Tolbert low!

Hard to do. He runs so low.

The Ric Flair thing I understand what 9ners coach is trying to do, take the wind out of the sails of this elite defense. What a joke, want to beat the guys so bad....we are more hungry for this than they are...it will show come gameday.

If the 49ers are even half as arrogant as their fanbase about this game, they're in big trouble.

Yes, they didn't have Crabtree or Davis (who we KTFO) in the first matchup and we won in a close game - but we won IN THEIR HOUSE.

Now they have Crab and Davis and our defense has them IN OUR HOUSE.

Don't think our fans can make noise when the time comes? Ask the Pats or Saints.

Alright, fair enough - I'll give you a pass on choosing anyone over the Cowboys.

Ginn's speed alone makes him a threat.
