I think the point is still valid.

I would be shocked if they signed him to an extension based on the production he's shown so far. My guess is they will let it play out until he makes a stink about a long-term contract and will trade or cut him then. I highly doubt they can find a serious trade partner for him. Probably will be peanuts. -

Im saying short of a trade they will pick up his option. Do I want that? No, not as a starter. But it's not what I want that decides the course going forward. Im trying to predict what the team does so I can determine my level of interest next year. -
Yeah I think it strained his shoulder. There is a guy that religiously wears a St. Pierre jersey in the lower level on the home side. I’ll buy him a beer some day if I happen to see him at concessions.

I don't see how, but I fear others hold BY in a different light. I just know Brandt/Dan/Dave jobs are on the line. 250mill and fails or can not find a better option.... I get 175 yards feel ultra easy too replace, hell I even think a green 2026 rookie could be closer enough to justify it.... Just depends on them and how the future plays out.

hes going to make 30 with the 5th if its picked up. No way he signs a deal that is less then that. With the rate of contracts if he gets an extension its going to be HUGE and the huddle sans a couple of posters are going to riot -

Are you saying if they pick up his 5th year? That'd be a horrible development. I'd rather cut his ass the second the season ends. I have a premonition that he's going to be traded to SF for McCorkle after the season. -
I'd bump Matt Moore to #4. Didn't have Darnold's physical talent but was better for us as a QB. Matt never got a fair shake under Fox. I still think the 08 team could have beat ARZ if Fox dumbass pulled Jake at half time and put Moore in the game. He had already shown he was the better QB in his stint in 07.

Would you rather pay him 60 million? I choose the lesser of the two if he's staying another year, which he will. Get ready for Russell Wilson as your new backup. Pray they draft someone to go along with that nightmare in the making. -
Thus he and his agent/crew can "holdout" as a bargaining tactic. That is his last "cheap" rookie deal year. The question will be simple this- either you commit a 200+mill deal for BY or if not????? Welllllll BY is not part of your future plans. If the Panthers are unwilling to do so, BY/agent/crew will demand a trade or release. This is why so many recent first round QBs have been traded at this stage. That was the point of my comments. Incoming off-season this should/will be answered.

Ive said all along the nfl did us a major solid with our schedule, from front loading easy teams to giving us a later bye

"Number eleven on their team worked his ass off the entire game." That's Scourton. Good to hear.

Teddy is super hard to place. I got no issue with that take. I probably messed the Teddy one up. Right there with Sam seems right
-
Seeing how D Jones played for the giants, seeing how Brissett literally just took Murrays job, seeing how tua is eyeballing the bench and all of these came with big contracts after mediocre stats. No fuging way, and I mean no fuging way should this franchise put that anchor around its neck for bryce young and his 175 yards a game
-
I would move Teddy up to #5 or #6 tbh.
-
and it was a colossal disaster doing that for the giants I believe they are still paying and will be next year for that insane contract and like others have said, we doubt he is simply going to play on a 1 year deal The panthers are backed into a corner due to his shitty play. Any other team would cut ties and eat the 4rth but they didnt set themselves up with any options. In a vacuum we are fuged.
-
Dude literally had one pass in him lol. If memory serves that pass basically ended that
-
Again I am trying my best not to worry about off-season or 2026 Panthers, just on this ultra wild 2025 mid-season playoff hunt ride. Still the reps of BY will meet with Brandt/Dan and other leadership(maybe even tepper). To simplify this without using many words; BY will need a financial commitment from the Panthers in the form of new contract OR he not part of the Panthers 2026 plan thus not on the team. That choice will either make or break a few NFL careers....

I don't think Canales is minimizing him. I do not want to get into that right now though. To go back to signing Bryce long-term, why can't they just so what the Giants did with Jones. They did not pick up his fifth year option. He played his fourth year and did well so they signed him to a contract just before the start of his fifth year. Let Bryce play his fourth year for his contract. Of course he could close out this season against the Bucs, Seahawks and Rams looking like he did at the end of last season. That would certainly complicate things lol
