  1. Past hour
  2. They do. if Andy isn’t totally washed and if the OL can pass block. We have the running game, and with Andy we have the play action and ability to stretch the field. I have been missing that so much. These are kind of big ifs.
  3. Honestly think Panthers have a real chance in this game. Remember, Dalton is good for a game or two. Anything more than that and we're in trouble. If Carolina's run defense continues to dominate, I don't think Josh will light us up. Honestly think they'll hold Cook under 75 rushing and Keon under 50 receiving. Do that and we're good. Now Kincaid will likely have a good game. But choose your battles.
  4. A win postpones the slide back to below .500, if I were to place a bet on the near future. I am sorry but what I would love to see in coming weeks is a flash in the pan QB come from somewhere. Entertainment value will be high if there is some Bryce competition. Doesn’t look likely, just sayin.
  5. The injury concern is another knock on drafting the position high. It's tough to stay on the field as a RB. Those guys take a pounding and most are washed in their late 20s. It's like buying a work truck. You don't want to go buy a shiny brand new high dollar truck off the lot just to beat the hell out of it. Go and buy a used truck with low mileage because you know what's almost certainly gonna happen to it.
  6. The year we invested in CMC Saints got Kamara in tne 3rd and he outproduced CMC at least the first couple of years. I wanted to go after him that year.
  7. I think we're gonna lose and I'm not sure it's gonna be close. Dalton is washed. Maybe he can handle a game but I think they're gonna go all-in on the run defense.
  8. With the exception of Sanders we have been pretty good about cycling them through.
  9. Yeah, a top 10 RB pick pretty much needs to be a HOFer to be worth it. It's one of the easier positions to find a decent "good" player.
  10. You are going to have to miss out on a Peppers level talent or other notable monsters over the years, that are so clearly separated from the pack. But I generally agree. For just about all positions. I want Luke light at the end of the first.Someone at that position that is a solid 1st round talent. Don’t care about how people Moneyball that position I think it is a very important position edit: also, I vaguely remember tanking not being a possibility. That!s what I miss.
  11. I think it's going to be a really tough game but I'm holding out hope that we can win maybe possibly
  12. Yeah but I don't think it lasts too long. In that scenario, Dowdle is CMC and Chuba is Foreman. We really don't know if Etienne or Brooks will be able to replace him Dowdle next season.
  13. The sentiment here in Austin is starting feel like Sark was the problem not Ewers. A raw QB with zero expectations is exactly the type that should thrive under out “qb whisperer” HC
  14. Replacing Youngs production wont be a big challenge. Just keep handing it off.
  15. And Foreman was pretty replaceable so no need to spend a lot Re upping him But we are looking pretty good there right now. We miss right now, a big back Does Tolbert have any sons?
  16. CMC and Foreman would have been the perfect 1-2 punch. But they couldn't figure out how to use him until they were forced to. Imagine them behind this oline and blocking scheme. Geez!
  17. I wouldn’t have picked CMC at 8 was it? 6? I am one of the No RB that high crowd. Was then too, still am. Was actually against Stew also at 8 I think because I wanted LOT. Then Hurney moves back up… I was unhappy about that too.
  18. If things go south for us in the 2nd half of the season I wouldn't mind seeing Hooker. Dude has a big arm and is somewhat mobile. Maybe under Canales he has learned something. I just don't think Dalton is going to get us anywhere. We need to run the ball against Buffalo and keep the Bills offense off the field.
  19. "I was hoping that we'd maybe see him in the next game, because I didn't think it was going to be that bad," Brind'Amour said on FanDuel Sports Network South, pre-game. "Hopefully, we'll give him a couple of days, and we'll see him in that not too distant future."
  20. Well CMC was rarely the reason we were winning or losing games. Hence why you don't generally pay a RB that kind of coin. Not to mention he was insanely injury prone. He still is. It was just a poor investment we rightfully pivoted from. And then immediately squandered all the resources we received in return and made the team worse. You know, Tepper Panthers style!
  21. The breakdown of how this is calculated is spelled out in the replies.
  22. What was crazy to me is that it was after CMC was trade that the team won some games. I wasn’t expecting that. Though I will say I was kind of at odds with them making him almost the whole offense. It didn’t help the other people develop much. But for my money all day and every day the play was Darnold, the 9th pick and the highest 2nd we gave away and DJ and all the rest of the picks we gave up plus the aggressive FA spending, rather than that drunken Vegas weekend where it all went south. We still would have had Fitterer though and that would have been a problem.
  23. That is where I do sometimes get annoyed with the tanking crowd at the end of every year. Draft position can help a lot, it definitely can. But good evaluation will overwhelmingly outshine draft positioning every single fuging time. It's why I rage against the "development" guys so much. I agree we don't develop players well, I get it. But that problem PALES in comparison to the evaluation issues we have.
  24. They're constantly drafting in the back half of the 1st round, which is arguably the best place to pick from a value perspective. If you can imagine a graph with level of prospect on one axis and contract slot on the other. The back half of the 1st is the most efficient place to draft. It's relatively easy to find big time starters and their rookie deals are significantly cheaper than a top 5 pick.
  25. Yeah, if we would have just ran it back. But, traded away CMC in the middle of the 2022 season. Didn't bring back Foreman. Gave up DJ Moore to move up in the draft. Changed the entire coaching office - for the worst. And then proceeded to injure every interior offensive lineman on the team, to the point that they were pulling guys off the street on Monday to play the following Sunday. I don't know. That was kind of alot.
  26. I was going to remark that fiery stat nerd threw every irrelevant stat in the book out and somehow failed to use that one. Lol.
