Would you be willing to trade Chuba?

Interesting choice of examples with Philly considering Saquan Barkley is the highest paid RB in the NFL. -

Open to it, just how we deal with the contract is the only question. I expect they will want us to eat some of it to get to a 4th. When you spend a fortune on your oline, you don't pay RBs. Dallas and Philly have been a model for this. Dallas used to be and Philly has pretty much been plug and play at RB and <insert name here> have a career year. -

Their running game has been virtually non-existent. Drake Maye is 29 yards away from leading them in rushing. -
Or we could have used the Rams 1sts instead of our own to trade up to 1, taken Bryce, kept DJ Moore still ended up with the number 1 overall, and either traded it away for a haul, or taken a serious look at Williams, Dart, Maye and Daniels if we were less than impressed with what we saw out of Bryce. It was so simple and right there for the taking. Fug you Scott Fittershits.

Yeah, especially if Brooks' rehab is going well. I wouldn't want to depend on him for anything beyond promising depth after back to back ACLs but I'd be open to moving Chuba and his contract and giving Rico more snaps. -

Yes. Interesting they would want him with Henderson and Stevenson on their roster -

https://www.profootballnetwork.com/patriots-trade-deadline-rumors-5-deals-before-nov-4/ Move 3: Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers Trade Details: > Patriots receive: Chuba Hubbard and 2026 seventh-round pick > Panthers receive: 2026 fourth-round pick New England needs more from their backfield. Rhamondre Stevenson has struggled throughout the season, and while TreVeyon Henderson has flashed, he has not yet earned the trust to be a consistent focal point, lacking proper snaps for a lead back. The Patriots have had to lean on Maye’s arm more heavily than ideal, and adding a runner capable of producing efficient yardage would give the offense better balance.

There aren't 32 legitimate starting caliber QBs in the league. Just like when we were starting Bell and Chandler at OT, did that make them legit "starters"? I mean, technically I guess it did since they were indeed starting but they sure as hell weren't starting caliber players. If you have the 30th best starting QB in the league, you desperately need a starting QB and there's likely backups on other rosters better than your starter just like there were better backup OTs on other rosters than Bell and Chandler.

Name a QB as bad as Bryce who had their 5th picked up? You certainly can name better ones who didn't have it picked up.

2025-26 First Goal Thread

it's Boom time -
Yep, guess who we could have had: JSN*, Jared Verse (nice edge option) and 2025 pick 46 and Atlanta’s 2026 1st * just a wish but the 2023 2nd was pick 36 and that and Mingo’s pick was enough to jump to 20 and take a much better WR. We obviously wanted a WR since we took Mingo.

That's why ive wanted Evero gone for a while now. Hes a fine coach but I hate the system and bend but dont break soft scheme.
-
Of those guys, I would say Sam Howell in a heartbeat. There is no chance Daniel Jones leaves the colts
-
Fair enough. He did have to sit behind Daniels for a while and I think the playcalling has been just awful for LSU this year and hasn't helped him. But having a high level arm will get you drafted in the 1st or 2nd round, no matter what your processing level is. NFL teams will always think they can fix those types of QBs
-
This. When Bryce falters again we have to have legit options behind him, not just the washed up ghost of Andy Dalton.
-
He’s still playing well enough to make it worth it (if he can stay healthy) So I have no problem with it since the cap space rolls over anyways. Everyone complains that we don’t keep our good players around, and then complain when we extend one of our steadiest players of the last decade.

For as hyped as the 2025 Draft DE class was, it hasn't produced a lot of sacks at the almost halfway point of the season. Early returns are looking less than stellar. TE, WR and RB class are having some big successes, however. That depth appears to be very valid.
-
The year he had another edge rusher opposite him in Reddick, Reddick ended up having more sacks. Burns was good at rushing the passer here but he was taken out of plays far too often by a single TE or you'd never even known he was in the game at all. The Rams offer was equivalent to prime Khalil Mack or a TJ Watt. Those guys single handedly took over games and stopped drives. I can't remember a game Burns ever did that. Do we wish we had the level of production hes giving right now? Of course. Do I think we'd have it here. No. At the time, his production was on par with Reddick, not Parsons. Pay production and incentivise potential.
-
Technically our guys are in the top 6 in sacks for rookies and Scourton is tied for the lead.
-
That's why so many said he wasn't worth it here, there was only DB and it wasn't enough. If Burns is feasting then the other guys in NY are doing enough already, Burns is just collecting the stats. It's what he eas built for and is finally in his perfect space to succeed. Im not as in on the new guys yet. More is an understatement but the good news is that they are rookies.

Dion Dawkins on his confrontation with A’Shawn Robinson

Dion Dawkins is a funny person, and a good dude. But his personality is such that when he pisses you off, you're going to get really pissed off. That's what happened here. -
Not Necessarily Panthers Related but....
kungfoodude replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
You would need to filter for postseason STARTS, actually. It's why I eliminated all Super Bowl criteria. Backups get rings too. If you come up with a workable tier system, post it and I will try the 1st rounders as a test to see the results.
