I'm actually not against bringing Ned back. He has proven himself to be a reliable 1b. He might honestly be the best option on the market.

Major Concerns with this team…with numbers

I'm not the biggest fan of EP. But, word is out already that Vancouver is willing to consider significant retention. It'd probably end up being closer to $6-8m per. The talent is undeniable and at that rate, it might be worth the risk. Idk if I'd give up any major assets, though. Too many better fits out there to put all our eggs in EP's basket. -
No 1st round pick and no QB. Not ideal.

Mike Kaye’s take: 2026 NFL free agency predictions
csx replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ok correct. The only thing easily found is the second part of that offseason which was 1 year 5.2 million after the original 1 year ERFA which combined became what you stated- 90 replies

atlanta actually finished strong--it is a good job for a new coach--but Penix is not attracting anyone--interesting. I expect them to hire Jon Gruden. Heard it here first, I thunk.

It damned sure fell off a ton without DB last year.

I'm not High on Petterson hes a ghost in the post season.... and isnt going to help fill the physicality gap. -
The lack of consistent ball placement has been a point of contention here and for good reason. This season Young has a 16.4% bad throw rate. That's the best of his career. For comparisons, this year CJ Stroud is at 17.6% and Caleb Williams is at 20.7% so Young is more accurate than both of them. Baker is at 15.7% but for his first 5 seasons, he was between 17.9 and 20.9 so while slightly behind Mayfield currently, he is better than him at the same point in their respective careers. Saying he is inaccurate is simply untrue this season. I don't necessarily fault Horn here because as I said in previous posts he never should have been in that position. To me, that's an insult to Horn but that's besides the point. Against the Dolphins, the Panthers faced a 4-5 with 3:31 left in the game. Bryce hit Horn for a 17 yrd completion picking up the 4th down and leading to a score for the win. So I don't understand why you wouldn't think he could do it again. As far as the ball placement, every analyst and former player I have heard has stated Horn should have made the catch. Not one of them has said a thing about the pass being bad or that Bryce should have thrown it better.

Nadueu will end up being better than Blake in the long term IMO, he is a PURE goal scorer and IMO is a future 30+ goal guy easy... Basically what you said if I had to trade one bye stank. -
Makes a trade tougher on our cap doesn’t it? All guaranteed money becomes due the instant you trade the player. Pretty sure. But not 100%, I plan on looking. I remember looking last year when he was benched. Drooling over the possibilities lol. I know a release allows the post June 1st designation.
-
You think that changes if the only difference is he leaves? I think the die is cast already. Some of what Morgan has said leads me to think that Morgan is not 100% down with the constant prevent and wants more pressure.
-
Honestly if the goal is getting past Florida I'd love Shenn and Tuch, a second line of Svechnikov-Schenn-Tuch would give us a ton of grit and physicality.
-
No one even pretends to expect first round qb production from bryce anymore. The goalpost has moved to him being better than an unknown free agent.
-
Good one.
-
Context.
-
Wait, you would rather have Bryce throw a pick than throw a catchable ball to a receiver who dropped it because he was a rookie. That is some strange logic there.
-
The 5th year option is $26.5 million fully guaranteed.
-
Tuch or Panarin ROR tro or MALKIN. Tuch however is the only one who fits the canes usual desire for a long term contributer at 29 y.0 he's also a big physical power forward who can score and would add needed size to the top of the lineup (aka whichever line svech isnt on)
-
He promised not to be “reckless” in FA. But is going to make some moves.

I guess the 4th year gives him a raise but not huge. If the 5th year money is not guaranteed, neither is the job. He can be traded. If it is guaranteed, trade is not good but 13.25 mil in 2027 and again in 2028 is the price. Someone said 5th year is not guaranteed like the first 4, I haven’t looked into it. This isn’t really out of hand yet to the point it hampers us in a disastrous way. When they give him a new contract? That is when poo gets too real.
-
I think you’re right. Those two are probably worth three wins.

They don’t want to lose the guy in the booth telling bryce where to throw the ball. -

Good one. But it did improve, however slightly. Jeez, think if it regressed. I guess some people would say it did, I kind of feel like that was a result of it being clamped down in some games, for ball security’s sake. -
We just drafted two 2nd rounders. I'd prefer a mid-level vet signing over another rookie.
