  1. Past hour
  2. When you have Dalton playing like he did in an important game, you really have nothing. We could get that from anyone. Maybe we could get worse, but at his level of play what difference does it make? You ain’t winning with him you ain’t even competing with him.
  3. Rico will be 28 next year. This is his last shot at a big contract. He's going to want to get paid as a top 5 rusher if he is one this year. Malpractice is also needing a top 5 rusher for your franchise qb to be average
  4. With Byrce and his 180 yards passing a game average and Chuba's 50 yards a game we not winning next season either so that point is moot.
  5. Many things about this can be true. Is dowdle our best rb this year? Yes Are we winning the superbowl this year? No Are we signing another rb to another contract? No Is dowdles value at its highest? Yes Should we base bryces performance on the exploits of a back up rb? No No one is taking Hubbard and his contract. Remember we traded a 5th for a legit young qb in baker. Getting a 5th or 4th for a couple games of our back up rb ( who is performing better than the starter) is a coup. You gotta know when to hold em and when to fold em. We ain't winning the championship this year. Time to pick up more assets for next year
  6. Malpractice would be the Panthers going into next season with an inconsistent passing game and Chuba as the lead back we've seen what that offense looks like the past few seasons. If Byrce is going to succeed we're going to need to be a able run the ball. Again my point if Rico balls out as in a top 5 rusher the remaining of the season Panthers would be crazy not to try and sign him. He's a local product who grew up in Asheville not too far from Charlotte I'm sure his preference would be playing for the home team.
  7. He signed to the PS 10 days ago so he's a little bit into the playbook. He probably would have looked better than Dalton this past Sunday just playing backyard football lol.
  8. Sounds dumb but I would put "Super Bowl win as starter" as one of the bullets in the 1st round. And if my guy checks that, I'm good. It's dumb but its how I feel.
  9. We are. It’s a fair point. We aren’t replaying g those game every week we have new challenges ahead. Those were Bad defense he torched and the OL played a big part in his success too. I think he was great as far as it goes. Against a good d that wants to stop the run, is he enough to overcome that or will he yield less production? I guess that is the question. If he isn’t the difference between his production and Chuba’s might not be so great. also, the locker room should be considered. What would the effect of trading him be? Probably not great. I only said ‘consider’ not ‘would definitely’. I am trying to consider the angles.
  10. True but that money for Burns would be something we didn’t have now. OL, DL, Horn, Etc. We would just be complaining about those things.
  11. You were quick, I edited to say that I understood your point about the claim, after reading a couple more posts. I hear you about Rico. And I can’t say that my scenario will happen but I feel like they will try to make us one dimensional. I guess that hinges on is Rico good enough to stop them from shutting him down? If he is, that is pretty huge. Most backs aren’t able to excel with a concerted effort to bottle them up.
  12. It's wasted if he is on the roster too so it's an easy call really. Tilis magic
  13. I would always keep RB on the radar in the mid to late rounds. My goal at RB is try to get as much production out of rookie contracts as possible and avoid paying them.
  14. He never should have been signed in the first place it's already a sunk cost.
  15. This is the logical assessment. We aren’t talking about his entire production we are talking about the difference over what Chuba and Etienne can produce. We also don’t know if he really wants to be here after the last month. I would think he is cool but we don’t know. To me it depends on the return I would consider it for a 4th and would just do it for any more, which won’t happen
  16. Dalton is $5,000,000 in dead cap if he’s released this offseason
  17. 13 sacks on the year so far. Half of those came against the Jets. NFL.com has us ranked 26th overall. We are probably good then, right?
  18. I’m not sure it would be useful in determining the success rate of a given round.
  19. The DC effect. NFL level meh delivered by a low tier motivational speaker. I don't think there will be many issues until they get further away from their early wins. Im not sure there will be any regardless because most of these guys are just happy to be overpaid and starting when they would be backups or PS guys on better teams.
  20. Henry would be an outlier and a future HoF RB. Using him as a standard should be malpractice. They also don’t have another expensive RB to pair with him like we would.
  21. I'm all for trading Chuba but I would not be expecting anything at all from Brooks in the NFL. View any contribution from him as purely a bonus cherry on top, but I would have different plan A, plan B and plan C at the position before Brooks if we trade Chuba, don't sign Rico, etc.
  22. There are always exceptions. But just because an all-time great is an exception doesn't mean you should assume some other guy is going to duplicate it.
  23. I'm not arguing with you. You asked a question if teams decided to take away the run game and force Bryce to beat them what was Rico at the point. I was just noting going back to last season he's been one of the most efficient rushers in the league.
