  1. Past hour
  2. Saints are 1-5 in the Dome. They beat the NYG who Tankathon has in the top pick ahead of LV by slightly weaker SOS. The Saints’ win, cost them that top spot. They would be in the 1.1 right now. They aren’t good. I think show up and pass block because we are going to have to throw. Running a pass first plan with Bryce is risky as hell but they will likely stack the box again and force us to punt a lot or take some shots. OL really needs to keep their pass blocking straight.
  3. I saw the man come off the field arm just hanging so we didn't waste a time out for medical reasons against the cardinals trying to make that comeback. Much respect to him
  4. Everything they do makes it less compelling.
  5. Upfront, I was disappointed with the games last year. After it was all said and done, there really seemed to be an overwhelming hope that something similar to the basketball tournament would be created with this format. Cinderellas work in basketball for a few reasons, notably 1 player can have far more impact, positive or negative, on a 5-person team. Every year there are a handful of teams that have a real claim to being a national champion contender. James Madison and Tulane have no shot. The same thing can be said about most of the other teams in the field. Expanding it to more and more teams isn't going to have the effect of bringing in more contenders. It will have the effect of making up more 1-sided games instead. But, it is more football. Quantity over quality I guess. I can't wait until it moves up to 20 or 24 teams, or even more. Let every team in with 7 wins. That is bowl-eligible, plus 1. Maybe this year will be different and it will be full of good, close games, with compelling performances between the very best teams in the country. I kind of doubt it though.
  6. 17 games with the kind of load where you gain over 200 yards a game even half the time there isn’t a back who won’t get beat down and that not show up on the field. I think the best answer is keep the OL strong enough for regular guys to run for gains. Let people sign our one year wonders to the bigger deals and just reload. The only real inhibitor there is pass blocking. You have to have guys that are decent at it.
  7. Defenses have the edge at this time. Believe it or not Cam started the "college" offense migration into the NFL, that zone read was a problem for years.....Until defenses started to hit the QB no matter what. I always blamed the "old school" guard for not trying college systems/plays, WHO gives a good GD sooo long the play gains yards and the defenses has no answer!!! It was soooo Stoopid. They didn't want their #1 or first round QB on field with plays he was comfy with?? What the hell line of thinking was that!?!?!? It was force their BS system on a young mind and not win the dam the game. They didn't want to get replaced, scared bed wetters.... Plus Ive said this for years, all teams run similar offenses. If the play works, it may look different pre-snap, but that if that OC is smart he will implement concepts into his style of offense. Mike Martz had the whole league copying him, why cause his offense caused huge problems, DUH!! He started the whole calling a run/pass on the same play, it screwed up teams for years. Its the same for any bright mind, the plays are only good if you use them and they do each week- Andy Reid, Shanny, Mcvay, Payton ALL copy each other. They are always looking for a edge and miss-match, which was a big thing not long ago too force a miss-match. Now nearly all top 20 teams have 3 WRs that will bust your ass, along with a good-great TE and RB. Its just the current league, you need to be ready each week cause here coming a UNIT that's ready to drop 40+ if you are not ready. Rams don't need a punter if they are switched on. Its takes another brilliant mind like Bill Bellicheat to figure how to slow down juggernaut offenses. The amount of teams that used Bills methods after he showed the league how to stop teams, people just don't know. Mcvay is back on fire, but Bill showed the league the blueprint to stopping MCvay.....couple years and Mcvay is back on top just killing the score board.
  8. Same way we should beat everyone. Run the ball until we have to make big time throws. Then trusting Bryce to make them. Having Chuba and Rico both healthy down the stretch could be huge
  9. It is a prove it deal but he's sorta proving he can't handle the load all season. I dont know anyone will overpay for a back that can't carry that load.
  10. This is some mighty huge bullshit. Join a fuging conference if you want to go to the playoffs.
  11. I'm 99% sure the browns are firing stefanksi and hiring deion
  12. Nicole is still an enigma. She has no background history, married a creepy billionaire, seems really sweet, who knows lol.
  13. @LinvilleGorge I guess others want to discuss this beat to death topic, huh?!
  14. Same on all counts. Thank you for your objective ability to watch football lol.
  15. So, I like Shedeur, but as I’ve said in previous threads, in terms of the upcoming draft, Mendoza is the one guy I would lock in on.
  16. Today
  17. You’re in the minority, I’m aware of his reputation for holding onto the ball too long, but give me someone whose issue is holding onto the ball too long but can hit a wide open 50 yard air pass when it’s there over a guy who often just doesn’t pull the trigger or can’t make the throw at all. Again, the point of this thread is, no matter how Bryce finishes the year, competition needs to be brought in and an influx of talent at QB. I happen to like Shedeur and if he was an option, as a young QB in his rookie contract, to me seems like a good idea if the price is right.
  18. Scot, I’ve watched his full games.. Since college. I’m aware of the perceived weaknesses and flaws. Yet, we have/had a front office full of paid football professionals who “full game” scouted Bryce Young and thought he was worthy of the #1 overall pick. We also have a faction of our fanbase that, even when presented with a better option at QB, choose to keep believing in Bryce Young despite the fact that even with his occasional Atlanta games, or how he played against the Rams, he is still the statistically worst starting QB in the NFL since he’s been at the helm. So, it can’t be based off play or scouting. So what is it based off of?
  19. I seem to disagree with a lot of people on this board but brother, that is one thing we can both agree on!
  20. It happens when the best QB in the game's team sucks, another MVP caliber guy in Burrow misses most of the year, last year's ROY misses most of the year, etc. Everything in the game goes in waves. Right now defenses are largely focusing on a bend but don't break approach trying to limit big plays and bowing up in the redzone so offenses are adapting and focusing on trying to get the ball out fast and play small ball because those plays are largely going to be there as long as they can have a credible downfield threat.
  21. I know people hated the BCS system but a lot of that was due to the limitation of only two teams. There are always going to be more than two teams that are capable of winning it all. But there has to be some sort of concrete system in place to rule out fugery. Just like the NFL playoffs. The winner of a bad division might have a worse record than a team missing a wildcard slot but it is what it is. Them's the rules. Nobody changed them and everyone knew what it was going in. It is what it is. There needs to be the same type of system for the college playoffs. But the reality is that ESPN has paid a ton of money and they want the drama. It drives viewership.
  22. If I remember correctly, we were alternating Rico and Chubba who wasn't ready to come back. We've performed well against teams that stack the box. If we get Hunt and Mays back. We'll be able to run enough that it will open the passing game. I was so angry at DC for not sticking with Rico.
  23. I think we need to get a big play from Coker or T Mac in the first drive to scare their defense then pound the rock.
