2026 NFL Combine Thread: 2.26.26 - 3.1.26

When you take the process oriented approach, you rarely get the wow factor. I still see this team 2-3 years away from a legit SB contender. The goal is to slowly but surely build the roster with great players that you know will be impactful. Give me a clean prospect like Thieneman over a guy like Faulk who has the measurables but lacks production. I use Faulk as an example since we met with him. Faulk scares the hell out of me. Not a fan. Calculated risks that might give you the “wow factor” are necessary at times, but not in the 1st round imo. Esp not for the Panthers. -

Bud Clark is testing really well. That's not good. His mid-round projection was largely based on people expecting him to test out as a mediocre NFL athlete. -
You're annoying as poo

The coaches don't have to say it. The tape doesn't lie. This has been discussed before.

Just to update the summary posted back there, as of…. yesterday (?) Morgan said the 600 on the board were culled to 200. He said it usually distills further, like 130-150 players. As per my shitty memory. The 200 figure is solid.

This is the same guy who pretended that UNC's biggest issue is that a guy who played an entire half of basketball literally with a broken arm isn't tough enough and doesn't play hard enough. I'm not sure if he's a troll or just clueless but he's not to be taken seriously, that's for sure. LOL

Fix the OL so he can be protected. Past that it is his 4th year, 3rd in the same offense. A QB worthy of getting paid needs to elevate the players we have.

For me it would be like getting underwear at Christmas. Sure you probably need it and it will be extremely useful but there is no wow factor. Definitely not arguing with you. Just my .02 -
Panthers give Ashawn Robinson permission to seek trade

Evero prefers that smaller NT. I think the reason they don't use that many of the Wilfork style NT is there just aren't enough of them to go around. 360-375 is a lot of weight to sling around, and there aren't a lot of guys that can play dominantly at that size with the power needed to demand double teams consistently. Even with Star/Short, Star ate an extra lineman most plays and that freed up Short 1v1. I prefer a 4-3 with ball hawking LBs. To me, it's just more versatile because the hub of your defense isn't revolving around the health and dominance of a single D lineman. Also, with only a few between the tackle power backs, the run game has changed as well with a lot more dump offs and short yardage passing. -

Faulk gets a lot of high marks for being a fantastic culture guy and has great measurements but his production leaves a lot to be desired. Not my top pick for the DLine but I would not hate it. -

My take is that a formal meeting is something scheduled and probably recorded but an informal meeting isn’t. -

Right or wrong nobody seems to use the type of NT used 10-20 years ago. Many starting NT make ours look huge. - Today

I've always wondered why we tried to run a 3-4 without a true NT. DB is not a NT even though he plays a lot over center. -
I'm sorry but if you're saying the things you are then you don't know ball or are just trolling. Differential says the hornets are the 7-8th best team in the NBA. They started the year off injured and horrible in clutch moments. They are -6 in expected record because of the above two things and have found out how to win. Coaching is absolutely not a problem at all, it's a big reason they are turning the corner and winning. 12-3 over the last 15 with only one of those losses at full strength. +2.8 differential Starting lineup has the best net of any 5 man lineup in NBA history. They are favorites in 15 of the teams last 22 games. Their expected record is 44-38, which likely gets them the 6th seed.

I wouldn’t complain if we drafted Dillon Thieneman at #19 and finally fix the FS black hole we’ve had for so long. He’s a natural cover 3 FS. -

I am a Golday fan, but Kyle Louis is a smallish stud.

dumb question but I don't know the answer: What is an "informal meeting" (aside from what it means literally) and what makes it different from "formal meeting?" I don't know how to ask the question--but I guess I am wondering why an informal meeting is news, or if they were really interested, why not a formal meeting?
