It is time to Consider the Likelihood of WR at #19
Shocker replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
People aren’t talking about Denzel Boston. Probably a 4.5+ guy but 6’4 215 and great hands. Ball skills and route running are very good. Would not mind grabbing him. -
His 4.6 was 8th this year in the ACC. He was 12th in T/A ratio. During conference play he was 7th in assists Also Isaiah Denis is back as well.
-
Strong period against a team that needs 2 points to make the playoffs.

I just don't get the Moton thing. He played in 16 games last season (and the playoff game). He's had worse seasons from that perspective. His health hasn't really been an issue, and his actual play is still solid. Why are you throwing dirt on him? Some tackles play well into their thirties. -
Canes only team in the league w/7 20+ goal scorers.
-
That was fast, Ehlers!
-
Miller w/ 2 excellent defensive plays and a strong hit in the neutral zone.
-
Bussi good early
-
Ehlers to Nadeau, 1st SOG for the Canes!
-
If you go back a decade, his 4.6apg this year would be 3rd amongst UNC players. Cadeau's sophomore season leads at 6.1, forward Theo Pinson is actually second at 5.1.

I'm just not sold on Avdalas at point but I hope I'm wrong
-
Yeah, he looks to me like a guy who was able to excel in HS simply because he usually had 4-5" on the guy trying to guard him. Kinda like watching Adam Morrison at Gonzaga. Like yeah, dude is hooping, helluva college player. But he can simply shoot over top of these college guys trying to guard him who are still on him like white on rice. He wasn't shaking defenders he was simply playing over top of them with size. How is that gonna translate to the NBA when the guys guarding him will be his size and way better athletes? Well, we found out.

Ehlers, subject to change
-
He really lacks athleticism and is overrated big time. Another Ian Jackson situation where the player doesn’t match the hype. No big loss.

I'm not crying over losing Mingo. After he committed I watched his highlights and just didn't get it. He looked like a top 50-75 type recruit to me, not a top 10 type guy. Yeah, he was making plays but HS defenders were still all over him right in his hip pocket. Usually top 10 recruits look like gods on a HS court. They look like a different species compared to everyone else. Mingo just looked like the best player on a HS court, nothing out of this world. It's the equivalent of watching a college WR and evaluating him as an NFL prospect. Like yeah, he's making plays, but he can't separate at the college level. Now project that to the NFL level where he's definitely not gonna be creating separation and is gonna have a bigger, stronger, smarter player draping him like a blanket. Is he still gonna be making plays then? TBD.

Don't agree with that. But Mingo probably would have pulled out anyways

I mostly agree with the assessment of impact players this year, but I do think Kayden McDonald would be the exception for DT. He would plug the run Day 1. Pass rush would need time though. -
Avdalas is expected to play the point for Malone, so UNC has parted ways with Dylan Mingo and aren't persuing his brother.

Sitting tonite: Svech, Staal, Slavin, Jarvis, Aho, Ghost.

Dan and Dave have both said they want to draft an impact player in the first round. The most impactful rookie positions are WR and RB. On defense it's Edge and CB. Can't see a RB at 19. So Edge rusher, CB or WR are the likely options. Oline and DT absolutely are needs. But they wouldn't be impactful this season. -
strange and weird statistic of the week. BPI at 5.3% has the Hornets with the forth best odds in the Eastern conferences to make the finals.
-
I think barring some games where he is so hideously bad that the fanbase turns on him and the team has to pull the plug it's a done deal. For better or worse they are all in due to what they gave up. And yes Dan Morgan is absolutely a believer no matter the cope you might read here otherwise.
