He was a solid defensive coordinator here but I don’t really see why McDermott should be held in much higher regard than Ron Rivera on the whole. Sean got his own Cam Newton like Ron and still couldn't get past the conference championship

Joe Brady has some incriminating pictures of Pegula....

It was 5, (4 of them by Allen)…but who’s counting?

Diego Pavia measures 5'9" at the Senior Bowl

Reading some of the wisecracks in this thread you would think the Panthers steamrolled their way into the division title and the playoffs instead of being swept by the Saints splitting with the imploding Bucs. Keep your sense of humor boys you're gonna need it with the upcoming opponents. -
I think a lot of people look back with rose tinted glasses at the McDermott defense years. They were one of the worst in the league his first season, and their ascendancy had a lot to do with Gettleman finally drafting some defensive tackles (Hurneys most glaring flaw during his first time as GM) and landing one of the best defenders of his generation. Plus Thomas Davis’ turning from tissue paper into tungsten steel. he used very simple concepts in the secondary. It was so easy that courtland finnegan showed up off the street after tillmans injury in 2015 and was starting that week. 2015 was also a year where teams fooled themselves into thinking Josh Norman was the best db in the nfl. I can’t prove this obviously but I really think he made one insane interception against the saints in week 2 or 3 (and it was a fuging sick interception to be fair) and teams just freaked out and decided he was early 90s Deion. I mean he was mentioned in songs by JayZ for crying out loud Prior to 2015 he had one promising season, was benched for one, and then never came close to that lvl of success again even when he reunited with McDermott in Buffalo. he was benefitted from kuechly being so good playing MLB that the middle of the field for twenty yards was a no go zone for other teams. mcdermott was also running Rivera’s defense. I think at the end of the day he was always more of a GM type coach and not a strict XO guy, an accusation that has followed him to buffalo. he would never come here to play second fiddle to Canales, who’s a complete fraud. He also probably needs a year off just to reload. I can’t imagine getting knifed like that after making Buffalo relevant for the first time in a quarter century. 2027 will be the year McDermott returns and he hires Luke as his DC. Print the shirts.

I mean we're splitting hairs there. Based on annual salary he is currently the third highest paid in the NFL. He's gotta step his game up and continue to step into the role. I certainly hope he does and he's largely an easy player to root for. I can appreciate speaking up for "our guys" but getting swept by the rebuilding Saints with the division and playoffs on the line and just waving that off sounds like a loser mentality but that's just my opinion.

The thing is he won't be paid like a top 3 corner in another year. That's the whole point of locking those contracts in early. Also, I think he's very much in the conversation among the best in the game regardless of what he's paid. Chris Olave has his number for whatever reason. The best corners in the game almost always run into someone who's got them figured out. He pretty much dominated everyone else all season. When you factor in the nonexistent pass rush it only further cements his status as one of the best.

Firing McDermott to hire Joe Brady is one of the dumbest things I've seen
-
He's talented and a good locker room presence but in no way is he a top 3 corner like he is being paid.
-
PFF is so weird. Horn being ranked 69th in their magical rating system is funny. Allowing 289 yards all season is preposterous. He's a monster.

Daniel Jeremiah 2026 NFL mock draft 1.0

I’m more interested in the players he had outside the first round. It would be crazy of Peter Woods fell lost his first round grade. -
Looks like the Cards might be getting Mike LeFleur and the Raiders are wanting Klint Kubiak. I've got nothing on the Browns...
-
And for everyone concerned about age for Mike, which I understand - it's much easier to play at a high level as corner in a zone scheme than man scheme. Agreed I wouldn't pay him a big contract, but I think he could still be productive in his early 30s in a zone scheme

Rozeboom and Chanel: Our ILB free agent wish list?

Now I'm just picturing Rozeboom wearing some designer clothing playing LB. -
Oh yeah did this get posted
-
Hard to compare the 2 because Norman had a great pass rush and elite front 7 in front of him, while Mike and Horn have a bunch of turds trying to rush the passer

*Chenal You fashion forward huddlers have some fancy autocorrect going on lol. He makes a lot of sense for more than a few reasons. I've mentioned it before- he'd be the defensive FA that I would target if he fits with what we want. -
Absolutely a Top Ten Anime Betrayals moment I bet Brady was the choice all along. The didn’t exactly cast a wide net

100 lbs?!? Sounds like cope! No way he is triple digits! - Today

I'll be curious to see if Joe Brady in his first HC stint follows the tendencies of our own head coach regarding the tunnel vision for the offense.

Looks like 5'9. Don't know why people still debate this. He's in his fourth year lol. Even if he was actually 5'10 it wouldn't change anything. We still have to roll him out of the pocket constantly just for him to see the field. The limitations are what they are. Everything else is just cope. -

His hair clearly added a foot and he is really 4'10". The combine never thought about measuring through his hair so he pulled a fast one... -Mahomes actually tried to add height with his hair before the combine and they stuck a pin through it lol. These are official measurements people are trying to argue against. The weight thing can fluctuate to a degree but nothing extreme.
