Agree 100% Cam was a superstar that wasn't ready to acknowledge that he was no longer that. I don't even blame him for that. Cam could at least say he deserved to get paid cause of who he was. But glad the team didn't resign him.

Please no Freddie.....please....

Also, this is an NFL thread. We do have like 15 different Bryce Young/QB threads to choose from when it comes to the search for a new QB. Let's not completely derail this.

That sounds about right. It is certainly in the range of conceivable outcomes.

Dillon Gabriel and JJ McCarthy. Somehow they have managed to be worse than Bryce.

I’m not sure people understand how fuging bad it is

Pretty hard to feel bad for a guy that was basically groping women near constantly for the better part of two decades. they “went after Richardson” because he’d torched the inheritance plans for his team and was barely competent anyway. It was easier to clear the way and let someone pay cash than to drag it all out and turn it into another New Orleans situation. Of course we got stuck with tepper but from the leagues perspective none of his freak poo has come out yet and he’s better at hiding it. -
That is how I remember it too. It was similar to how people portray Bryce in 2026 without his option picked up. I mean people didn’t think it was gonna be peaches and cream with Cam on an expiring contract, same as they are predicting for Bryce. IIRC the impression I got was Cam was not gonna be happy and if Cam ain’t happy nobody’s happy, to borrow a cliché from mama. It isn’t like Bryce because Bryce is the same Bryce, but Cam was not the same Cam. You cannot overlook that but I felt like his attitude was he expected the team to do business as usual. Not to acknowledge the fact that he was physically different and have that reflected in a new valuation. Which I don’t know how that was supposed to work out..

His stats for the Patriots 2020 look better that your boy Bryce this year, so shut the fug up about not being able to throw...
-
Hell we drafted another one first overall who cant throw the ball,at least Cam was a threat to run...

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)

That never was reported it was from a dumb Instagram post of his

And, I'd add that I don't remember a towel over his head being a big Huddle thing, or a thing at all here. Maybe on Reddit or something... Who would get really upset to the point where they wanted to kick Cam to the curb because he put a towel on his head or pouted when he lost? You need to take that poo to Facebook.
-
Dang, wish we could pull off a matthew Stafford like trade Burrow, never gonna happen, but would be cool.
-
People forget that it was reported HE WAS NOT GOING TO PLAY OUT HIS DEAL.. and he wanted a new deal. So the decision is, pay him a new top of the league contract for a QB with a busted arm.. or let him go. ...It was time to let him go.
-
Deserve’s got nothin’ to do with it Do people deserve being born rich? Poor? It just happens. Like our QBs happen to us. We have nothing to do with that. Have they ever asked us before signing a single one? And that towel over his head was pretty strange if I am honest. Was he going for an endorsement? I wouldn’t like Caleb Williams’ fingernails I can tell you that. But if he QBs them to a division title in his second year, Bears fans will tolerate that gladly. It is all overblown.
-
The trauma is real tho.. lets just start collecting QB's
-
Most of us wanted him to play out his last year of his deal in 20
-
For every one darold there are 25 Kenny Picketts of the world
-
I'll just take myself a Joe Burrow and a couple of rookie QBs, please I agree with you though, we basically can upgrade QB with FAR more options than we could realistically downgrade QB, lol. I'm in favor of drafting one *but not reaching* and bringing in a vet and another developmental guy.
-
I have too much trauma of us cutting 1st round QB's only to see them do well elsewhere.. I would bang the drum to keep him and bring in other QB's for a true QB battle. Canales like to take credit for Russel Wilson.. well then do what you did his rookie year and create a true camp battle.
-
Blissfully ignorant. If we were that stupid this would be a happier place. Baby.
-
So 5+ years after Cams best football was behind him, now you think we don't deserve a franchise QB? I dunno man, plenty of us malcontents here loved Cam and were huge supporters of his. It's not like we fans drove him off in his prime, either - he was never the same after the shoulder injury and Tepper Teppered that situation all up.
-
Im generally curious why folks believe this if that are not trolling. I mean what does one think would happened best case realistic scenario?
-
Just fug off with that.. Cam at the beginning of his career dealt poorly with hardships. I dont think thats a big issue saying. I also get how his whole persona and how he carried himself/dress was not everyone's ideal. Regardless Cam was appreciated by basically every fan for his contributions to the team. We had some pretty special years with him. But this whole "we deserve this" cause we cut a QB that couldn't throw the ball anymore is ridiculous and tiring.

Thanksgiving was a parade of excellent QBs. Even when they were making mistakes you could still see the talent.
