With the additions we've made to the offensive skill positions and the investments along the OL I certainly hope third year first overall pick Bryce Young's statement game by whatever definition anyone would describe it happens well before week 12. With the way the upcoming QB class is shaping up we don't need glimpses or teases of elite play anymore. That ship has sailed. That was for year 1 and 2. Now we need consistent high level passing ability and decision making early and often.

Weighing more than what? His weight seems to be what was expected aside from a random Huddler on here claiming he has the frame of someone in high school? He didn't magically weigh more.... 6'4" and 219 is still a slim frame but again he is a WR so it doesn't matter as much (see Higgins and London). Bryce's situation was different because there were genuine concerns about his size. @LinvilleGorge already hit the nail on the head. None of the top guys are doing combine workouts and it's not some conspiracy about them adding weight.

That Pats game in 2013 is possibly my favorite non-playoff game in the last 15 years. A few other candidates that year including 49ers and Aints and of course several in 2015. But I don't really see the parallels or comparison here. Cam was setting records in his first career game and everyone knew he was 100% the real deal from the start. Him getting benched in year 2 was about as farfetched of a scenario as anyone could dream up. The Pats game I did not view as a turning point for him at all, he played an amazing game but he had amazing games before that too. Honestly, I don't even think Cam was all that much better in 2013 than his first 2 seasons. 2015 was his big breakout year before injuries impacted his prime way too soon. That game was more of a statement win for the team and organization than the QB but we had also beaten the juggernaut 49ers on the road the week before as a statement too. Bryce is no Cam Newton and almost certainly never will be, unfortunately.

If the person on these boards who knows his game best is pointing out flat out incorrect statements about his game and laying out multiple real reasons why that’s the case makes you dislike our Top 10 pick…… then that’s a you problem, sorry bud It’s not like I’m just saying “you’re wrong, he’s awesome, you suck” I’m laying out very specific things and pointing directly to the things he does in great detail. Yea, I’ve watched that video from each of his last 2 seasons like 5 times each. On top of watching every snap of his live, on top of discussing his game for 3 years on my Arizona hoards, on top of following and watching all the pre-draft stuff. I’m not saying I’m a savant on him, just that I know nobody here has spent more time watching ad discussing him than I have

Its just time to accept that top 10 type prospects are highly unlikely to workout at the Combine. It has very much become the norm. I don't like it either but it is what it is. The days of seeing the Cam Newtons and Julius Peppers doing the full battery of workouts like the old days are over.

There are definitely some very winnable games on that list and at the very least we should be competitive. But I think 8-9 is the most realitistic outcome. If we can squeeze out a winning record somehow I would be floored. But I think that's a tall order with all the youth we have on the roster. Regardless. I am honestly happy we are starting out the season with back to back road games. After how we started off last season this will tell us out the gate where this team is at. I am sincerely hoping they come out swinging. If not. They deserve all the criticism they will get. Side note about #4. If you don't like the pick just put it to bed until camp. That should already have been out of your system the week of the draft. Bloviating about it 2 months before camp and before the kid has even put pads on is just unnecessary trolling.

and I bet you would be dead wrong. There are some lunatics on this board and i bet quite of few of them have watched videos like this. Every target is condensed to 30 minutes. There is one for every year. Watching all his snaps doesnt make you a tet savant. He has issues anyone can see but he is also talented. I would much rather have a dude like nabors for bryce then tet but I have made peace with the pick and hope he works out

I wasn’t saying other people couldn’t have gone and watched all his snaps, but I can’t see there being a single person here who has watched him more than me (and by here I literally mean these boards, not like the Panthers scouts and such). I’d bet my bottom dollar there isn’t a single person on these boards who watched every snap of his live, then spent the last 3 years watching highlights/clips during that time, as well as spending those years discussing him on message boards after every game too. Not saying I know his game better than everyone in the told, just on these boards and the people who are discussing him on here.

You have to question the guys that have reservations about their size that show up at the combine magically weighing more and then not doing poo However I am on record the 40 time is not important, if he can get off the line he should produce, if he struggles with physical corners it may take a minute to get him up to speed
