Level Of Enthusiasm Going into Game 1
kungfoodude replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think most of my Panthers "anger" is pretty much mock at this point. It's basically just at the level of being annoyed. I do reserve some energy for teams I hate, still. -
Why do we keep circling back to this being about a savior? Nobody is asking for a franchise QB. We aren't looking for "the" answer. We're looking for someone younger with any level of potential that will give this young offensive roster the chance to develop in what is in all likelihood not going to be a winning season in the event Bryce Young goes backwards again. Nobody in this offense is going to develop one iota with Andy Dalton Jack Plummer or Bryce Perkins. This is about what is best for our young roster. We cannot afford to continue squandering these seasons of potential development if we ever want to establish a new core and begin making a playoff push at any point before 2030.

Oh I get heated. It just doesn't ruin my day anymore. -

I think I only still get a little heated over NHL. The Panthers and Hornets have worn me down to the point of largely being apathetic. -
I'm eagerly waiting to see if he hits the waiver wire. Would provide some more potential upside to the current LB room. It really wasn't that bad going into the offseason. Wallace/Jewell/Rozeboom/Cherelus/Rhattigan gave us a youngster/vet duo with three ST/back-up guys. Losing Jewell before things even kicked off though was a shot I don't think anybody saw coming. It reduced the room to a young guy + four special teamers.
-
Tyler Huntley wouldn't be a bad option at QB2 if Dalton is expected to miss a good amount of time.
-
Any today will be injury related or released with some designation other than released/waived, I suspect. I agree, < 90% will be tomorrow, and most--if not all--in the afternoon.
-
If it's a top-100 like the one NFL Network does that's based entirely on the previous season, not having Derrick Brown would make sense considering he only played in 1 game. But if it's a general top-100 player list? Yeah, no question Brown should have made it. You can make a good argument for Jaycee Horn, Robert Hunt, Damien Lewis and Chuba Hubbard but I don't know that any of those guys are full-on locks either.
-
If Thielen is traded, I'm knocking my vote back to a 4. He's going to be difference maker in 2-3 games this season. Without him, a couple of close games are going to the other team.
-
Now the Sanders stans have cooked up a conspiracy that the Browns conspired to make Shedeur look bad in the final preseason game. These people are wild. LOL Like nah fam, that's just Shedeur Sanders against a non-Panthers backup defense.
-
Courtesy of Mike Kaye, teams in front of the Panthers on the waiver wire: 1. Tennessee Titans 2. Cleveland Browns 3. New York Giants 4. New England Patriots 5. Jacksonville Jaguars 6. Las Vegas Raiders 7. New York Jets Also mentions watching out to see if the Panthers designate anybody as IR-DTR like they did with Crumedy last season which effectively redshirted him for 12 weeks to learn behind the scenes. Jared Feinberg mentioned that we may hear a few Panthers cuts today and to expect to hear the majority of them tomorrow afternoon.
-
The worst case scenario is that we have two backup caliber QB's. Well the Browns have maybe 2 and some PS guys. Who cares? If Bryce isn't the answer it just is what it is. I have no idea why you people keep thinking there is some fuging savior just floundering away on an AFL/CFL/XFL team or PS. Those guys are there for a reason. The examples of that working out are literally as outlier as you can get.
-
I’m actually very pumped. Our depth sucks but I have high expectations for our first team.
-
I mean Tee Higgins is 86. Ladd McConkey 94. Brock Purdy 96. Top 100 is pretty damn good players. We don't have many of those.

Before preseason, I was at a 6-7. After watching us perform during preseason, I'm at a 2 (which is what I voted). I REALLY want to be wrong about this, but I feel this year will be similar to last year. We'll have a couple highlights from the likes of TMac, Thielen, Coker along with some break out run plays, but we won't consistently move the ball. It will just be a play here and there that flashes. Defense will be bad again. All we'll be talking about in 3 games is mainly Evero and BY, then it will escalate to talking about Canales. Rinse-repeat -

Honestly sports aren't worth getting angry over in general. Enjoy it, but life's too short to be overly upset with things you can't control. Being a Panther fan is like walking through a fire that burns all your emotional attachment lol. -
We are one of like 6 teams with no released players yet (at least to the public). It seems like the past year or so instead of doing phased cuts, which we have traditionally done, the names are held back until the list is almost/completely finalized.
-
Strangley enough, he did it on purpose.
-
could be waiting till everyone gets in this morning so they can turn in their playbooks Beware the turk
-
Are we doing the entire cut list at once thingy again so nobody's feelings are hurt to be the first name released?
-
Ratio of UGA fans to Falcons fans outside of Atlanta is at least 20:1. Even in the city UGA dominates. Hell, there are probably more Bama fans here than Falcons. Old school SEC states are a tough sell for pro football.
-
FYI their backup QB Davis Mills has a playoff win. That's more than our entire QB room. But go off.
