Honestly, I think we have a chance at having a very fluid set of roles. All 3 of T-Mac, Coker, and Brazzell seem like they can bring something from both the outside and the slot. We saw last year how well T-Mac did when we would line him up in the slot and get mismatches, especially the quick slants (something he was great at in college too). Problem was that he was just far too valuable for us on the outside as for most of the year we didn't have anyone else who could remotely play that role until Coker came on strong late. I very well could see us line up with any of the 3 in any spot in the formation depending what we're trying to accomplish on the play.

Just a big WR that makes big catches and has some speed. im not saying he’s going to be a bust, I just have memories over the years of WRs with similar builds that ended up doing nothing. Reading that Tennessee changed their offense this year does give me some hope though. still just cause he’s 6’5 and has some speed doesn’t mean he’ll work out.

I'm reading all that I can (including the above linked profile), and I'm not going to try and convince myself that he's something he's not. Can he grow? I hope so. But he's nowhere near pro-ready. People are just enamored with size and speed.

If they wanna give Coker the Thielen slot style role I could see it working. Coker can probably do some things outside that should still warrant him out there, maybe if they get Horn or Metchie inside on those plays when in rotation

Exactly He's only a Coker replacement if he absolutely blows up by the end of 2027 and we have to choose between paying 2 of T-Mac, Coker, and Brazzell, and even then, it still might be Coker if he keeps progressing himself. That's why I was so against a WR in the 1st, as it would guarantee one of them is gone by then. If a 3rd rounder forces us to make that call, totally worth it, but you don't want to get into that position with 1st round picks, they're too valuable.

Safety is the target in round 4. Outside of maybe an IOL, the rest of the draft will likely be all defense.

Idk what some are seeing, but it’s different from what I am. His highlight reel shows a very fluid and shifty guy, especially for his size. Yes, I’m sure bc of his size, he will excel on streaks and seams, but even the profile they did on him after the pick, they both said and showed that he can run all of the routes. He has great feet and fluid movement outside of his straight-line speed.

Considering our schedule if Bryce doesn't start throwing for 220 plus a game it looks that way

Yeah. Swapping those late picks like that is how they get to those one point margins. It is a common and convenient thing. I mean I don’t worry about any of those picks outside the 4th really. Such long shots…

Fair, and that was my first post on the pick as well, that I like the speed, but it seems more straight line and not quick twitch in the slot. Which is why I'm wondering if they're higher on Horn Jr than we might have thought. If he can be that guy for us it would be great, as we still have him on a cheap deal for 3 more years and that's the type of guy you just replace instead of extend when you have the studs on the outside like T-Mac, Coker, and maybe Brazzell.

And enough guys for Pickett to get a lot of work with, not a huge fan but if he's lighting it up in preseason while they coddle Bryce on the bench it could get interesting

From Tennessee alone that flamed out: Jaylin Hyatt (I got fooled on that one) 3-4 years ago. Wait that's the giants with Jones so gotta be the team not the player right? Cedric Tillman is another from UT that again isn't living up to the combine or college hype. Another 3rd rounder. Wait it's the browns so gotta be 100% the team there not the player. Dont'e Thornton just last year put up a similar combine at similar size. Later pick. Didn't light it up but what that's gotta be 100% the raiders? Let's be real, Metcalf would snap this guy in half they aren't comparable at all. London was more a tactician in college than a burner like Brazzell or the tenn guys before him. Dude is 198 vs DK at 228 when he blew up the combine (and is a bigger unit now).

This vibe from this draft is opening up to us having a disaster season and drafting in the top 5 for a new QB and then bouncing back in 2027 with a hotshot new QB and weapons

And 3, teams weren't afraid of XL making the catch anyways so they didn't bother keeping a safety deep. Also, even with the speed XL has, it's not like he ever really just beats the defense on go routes, Brazzell's highlight reel looks like he will do that.

I guess they tried that with XL but realized 1. BY doesn't wanna throw that very often, and 2. He definitely doesn't want to throw those to XL for him to jump 1 second early or jump out of bounds, whatever else head scratching that XL has done with timing and routes/boundary awareness lol.

Shoot. Totally forgot we signed Metchie. Gonna be a heck of a camp battle for a handful of guys at receiver.
