If we score 27 ppg and win 3 games evero better be toast
-
I think Evero goes first. Next seat that gets hot will be Morgan before Canales IMO if things go south. I still don’t how Dan emerged out of the Fitterer poo show
-
Tepper has proven he doesn’t care about anyone. Everyone is replaceable in search of wins. he has proven that with 2 pro teams over and over and over….
-
Can he kick?
-
possible ILB just became available
kungfoodude replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hate to burst anyones bubble but this guy played 188 total defensive snaps in three years but 802 special teams snaps. If we do kick the tires, it's probably gonna be for that latter part. -
I do believe that Evero gets canned before the end of the season and Capers takes over the D. I think the stage is set for Evero to fall on the sword for a 4-7 win season. Not saying it would be a set up but I do think if that transpires, the seat under DC might start getting pretty warm, rightly or wrongly. That's my read on Tepper. I am not at all excited nor am I dreading anything. I just have extremely low expectations so I am just waiting to see what this revision of the roster looks like. I FEEL like we are better on paper than last season's team but I wouldn't be remotely shocked if we were as bad or worse. Again, I do think this is the 2nd worst roster in franchise history overall. What will really make me happy is for some of the big questions to finally be answered(Bryce, Ikey, Horn, etc). I would like to see a real expansion of our core player pool(basically just D. Brown currently). I want to see a couple of hits in free agency and a couple in the draft. If we accomplish those things, I have faith that we are at least moving in the right direction after many, many years doing the opposite.

Considering our depth. Certainly kick the tires.
-
I am not so sure about that. I don't know that he is so soley offensively focused as winning focused. But, not really in a productive way. I get the impression he wants to be like Robert Kraft and take credit for "taking a risk on Bill Belichick" and being successful. His track record indicates that in the NFL and in his business life.

Jones ended up with a pretty tiny chunk of his contract. I suppose there is that. I think that was prior to the guaranteed money really going through the roof.

Captain Morgan started following possible ILB just became available

apparently he didn't fit their current scheme, or it's possible he's a bust. We'll see if EE is interested Jeremy Fowler @JFowlerESPN · 2h #Vikings releasing LB Brian Asamoah, former third-round pick. Team was close to trading him at the deadline last year. Could be effective in new scheme. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 6m #Panthers have added quite a few former Vikings defenders over the past couple of years with Evero as DC (Wonnum, Pat Jones, Akayleb Evans, Luiji Villan, TJ Smith) and still could improve at ILB. So, worth considering.

Great article explaining our changing philosophies around team building and scouting in the Tulsky era. Well worth the read! Puts the Miller signing in a new perspective...

I’m not claiming a conspiracy….but PFF for years and years ends up often spitting out some random bonkers stuff that makes little sense. Proclaiming BY as one of the great deep ball passers….to me, where the deep dive subjective analysis they do starts to really show it’s flaws. I mean if…. QB A is 1/1 with a 50 yard air TD that goes for a 99 yard TD QB B is 0/1 off a 50/50 jump ball incompletion to the back of the endzone and PFF’s conclusion is QB B was the better deep ball passer because QB A and team made it all look to easy and what if QB B’s team pulled that one off….. you slowly start getting too far into fantasy and make believe for me. Which is what PFF starts getting into with some of there stuff IMO.

Man you picked a good one, the pasted Dwayne Haskins by Redskins was the next pick 15th. I now recall he was "falling" and Daniel made the pick while the coaching staff vomited. They showed his house party and he was just standing there in front of the camera. Drafts have many moments just like that. I thought he was worth the pick and it was great value..... Man, I am barely above Marty hernaiy on draft day...

My draft recall is awful poor, I do not know without looking it up. I was reading some draft re-visit piece on 2022, my God that was maybe a all-timer about QB talent. The last pick saved the whole group and even some have questions about if he's a able QB. Corral had me fooled, not he in the sense of "he's a starter/savior" but Id thought he last longer than 2 years out of the league. Im off to lookup that QB Jones draft...

Yea, outside of an epic collapse I have a hard time seeing anybody on the staff being canned before the end of the season. I think that the team is capable of a 7+ win season with the current roster (depending on how the injury bug treats them). As excited as I am for this season, I'm looking even more forward to the following season when the team has another year to gel + develop and one more offseason to finish fleshing out the roster. After years of bad drafts, free agencies, etc... we seem to finally have the bones of a real team. Thinking about DB-BB3-ARob/Turk being the three DL with Scourton/Umanmielen developing has me even more excited about the defense's evolution over the course of this upcoming season.

Tepper cares about Bryce and offense. If we win 3 games but score 27 PPG, Canales is safe.
-
tru, I was trying to frame this as draft day mistake. not wait 3 years and everyone knows who's a bust.
-
that's fair. Just don't pick a guy only you would sixth overall, you set back the team years reaching for a mid round QB. daboll was too good for his own once he made Jones look decent. I'll say this too, if not for Jackson, Jones maybe the best running QB. Jones has serious QB wheels.
-
I mean. If I'm being honest. If we're talking a Panthers QB against the Falcons. PJ Walker had the more impressive game against them amongst anyone not named Cam Newton over the last decade. And that was in week 8. Not the last game of the season with nothing to play for.

Posted July 15 Stats are a funny thing, you can contort them to make any point I guess https://omny.fm/shows/the-mac-attack-podcast/mac-bone-hour-4-jake-crain-warren-sharp starts at 18 minutes in, sharp drops some stats that stun mac and bone In his last 4 games he had the easiest passing schedule in the NFL. For the year Bryce was Ranked 41 out of 46 qualified qbs in accuracy, 30th in epa, 37th ypa, 39th success rate. Bryce in 28 starts has only lead at halftime 5 times.
-
last game of the season against a team that had nothing to play for and the defense clearly threw in the towel. There is absolutely no way one can argue that was the most impressive qb performance for a panther qb. That is simply insane
-
There's plenty of really bad picks in the top ten going back to y2k.
-
I feel like the Mitch over Mahomes pick helped take some of the bad press off the Jones pick. Plus I'm trying to remember who was the next QB taken in the Jones draft? Drew Lock?
