  1. Past hour
  2. If he can string together 3 great games to close out the season and clinch the playoffs, not just good games, then and only then would I consider the option.
  3. I mean if the goal is to compete for national championships perennially there's really no debate where the better chance of that is between Ole Miss and LSU. LSU has three in the last 25 years while Ole Miss only had five winning seasons (and only one 10+ win season) since 2000 prior to Kiffin's arrival.
  4. Josh Allen had legitimate improvement. Bryce Young is more the same than he is improved. The legitimate improvement that people can't deny is the OL play each season, the rush attack and the D vs last year. The throws and coverage Bryce struggles with are pretty much the same. I think he is seeing a comp % bump that is product of Canales largely acknowledging Bryce can't do a lot (the whole argument made by many that he calls games how he has to because of Bryce). Bad throw % remains super high, he still fumbles a lot, he basically needs man coverage do to anything, isn't threatening downfield, the book is sort of out on how to stop him and make him irrelevant. I just mean because Atlanta refuses to do it to him and a couple 4th and shorts don't allow the setup....that doesn't change the overall book. And he will never really be able to improve on his physical tool limitations.
  5. I genuinely hope we are not having extension talks yet.
  6. Yeah I’ve watched Stafford for close to 20 years now and sometimes he has games where he just tries to pull poo out of his ass and that’s what Sunday was. Especially that corner endzone pass in the first half. He was just trying to show off his arm. A rams fan on another forum I post on said they hadn’t been in a close game in a while and it showed. at the end of the days Stafford is just a big dumb hick from Texas with the biggest arm in the state. Shine on you dumb diamond go dawgs
  7. Jake was not the 1st overall pick either. There's a level of expected readiness that comes from being drafted at that position. Pre draft, Bryce was the most NFL ready QB in a decade according to experts, top QB across multiple draft boards. That was never Jake. So comparing him to Jake's career path is disingenuous. I don't see legitimate significant improvement. I see an outlier game in Atl and good plays dropped here and there, but overall, the bulk product hasn't been anything that has made me think we need to extend him, or option him. Matt Flynn had a 400 yard outlier game, got a huge contract, and disappeared into obscurity. Take away Bryce's best and worst game each season as the outliers and analyze the rest. It all looks the same. Never a complete QB driven game start to finish. A lot of poor placement. Some good throws. Same bad mechanics and bad footwork. Not enough to say give me 2 more years of this
  8. For better or worse the decision makers including Dan Morgan are and will remain heavily invested in salvaging the trade and selection. To that end it is best to expect them to make bad decisions.
  9. Gotcha Like I said above, if it's just a statistical contest, why are they asking people to vote? (so they think we're bad at math)
  10. Can’t believe early extension talks are even a possibility right now. Noting in his play has shown contract extension, fifth year, I kind of see that, but an extension is insane at this point.
  11. Saban was also one of the guys that advised him to leave.
  12. I've seen it suggested that there should be a "Most Valuable Quarterback" award and a separate "Most Valuable Player" trophy. I don't really think that's ever going to happen, but there's definitely an argument to be made that it should.
  13. I'm good with a 5th year option but no way on an extension at this point.
  14. Just let the season play out. If Bryce continues to be an effective game manager and we're competitive, we're gonna pickup the option. I don't love it but it is what it is. Any talk of a lucrative franchise QB extension at this point is insanity though, but this is David Tepper we're talking about here so all bets are off.
  15. Bryce Young's presence on this team will continue to hold us back significantly, even if his cap hit is "cheap" (which is very debatable whether it is on the 5th year option). I won't be pissed about picking up the 5th year option as it is low risk and not necessarily an indicator that this team wants to stick with Bryce but the best decision by far is to trade him right after this season and go full clean slate at QB.
  16. Hopefully we see that an ext cripples your organization. Throw in Miami as well.
  17. Here's the thing... If you're looking to give out an award based strictly on the best statistical performance, why would you put it to a vote? If it were all about the stats, you'd just give the award to the guy with the best stats. If you're asking people to vote on it though, then it can't really be just about the stats
  18. We're kind of stuck in the situation. I would brace yourselves for a Cardinals/Jags type path the next few seasons.
  19. We're probably keeping him next year and moving forward with the 5th year option. I really don't see "Competition" with Bryce happening, but I can see us targeting a 4th-7th rounder to compete with a shltty vet for the backup spot. The options just aren't there.
  20. Man, I read that article and it was shocking how they were already talking extension.
  21. Donte Foreman is a recent example. Offered him a cheap deal but he decided to test the market. I doubt we sign Rico as he was always a one year rental. Chuba is starting to outplay him as he gets healthy. I think Chuba is our main RB next year like the previous year.
  22. Bryce is a dot thrower and not really a dart thrower. He throws some dorts here and there when he zips it. I’ve seen him sling a couple darts in his career, but it’s rare. He can never throw a laser though. Cam was a true laser thrower.
  23. Not really... Bryce is better than last year; worlds better than the year before. Mind you, that doesn't mean he should be signed to a long term deal, but it's there.
  24. I'd flip young for Lawrence straight up contract and all. Change of scenery would do both good
  25. The fifth word in my quoted post agrees
