  2. I surprisingly like this pick, I think he makes the team as well in the next couple years.
  3. Why I put him with Ghosty on the third line. He can focus defensively while ES. If needed can play PP2 in a pinch but id have him focus solely on defense and leave him off the PP in favor of Nikishin. 3rd pairing and PK minutes with 15-17m of ice time seems perfect.
  4. This is a damn good deal. He can score buckets, shoot the ball from 3. Can back up Ball or play the 2 since Ball has size and the teams 1-4 gives defensive versatility. (Even if it's not good versatility, lol) Dunno if they start him or have him come off the bench as the first reserve behind Ball and Green/ Kon at the two. Makes Green expendable for another trade though.
  5. Yeah I'm surprised they even got one first for him much less two of them. Hell of a trade by the front office.
  6. 2 first round picks for Mark was absolutely criminal. That is great return.
  7. Yesterday
  8. They used to own this town. I wonder if things would've been any different if we hadn't gotten the Panthers so soon after.
  9. You should know better than this rod will not play anyone on their offside unless forced too by injuries littleraly 0% chance of this
  10. Burns was actually pretty solid defensively its his offense that's fallen off a cliff
  11. Assuming Mann is back I’d go ahead and move Green and the first rounder from PHX for a starting center. I prefer Okogie to Green anyway.
  12. Been here since the Coliseum days. Hornets were the first pro team I ever rooted for. If they're ever going to get out of the gutter they have to establish a culture. They are trying to do that. I have no idea if it will be successful but it's a start.
  13. I don’t think I'd go that far but there is definitely legitimate reason to ask how much he actually values winning and being great as a basketball player. He is very easily distracted with off the court stuff. This has been a public criticism of people like LeBron James with some of the newer generations of "stars". And it is 1000% valid and needed to be said. All I can say is I hope this is the year. If it is it will be apparent fairly early on. But I get the sense if the same themes continue as the upcoming season progresses the FO could look to move him before the trade deadline. It would suck for a multitude of reasons and I don't want to see it happen but if it did it would be on LaMelo and LaMelo alone because they've given him the keys and are finally putting pieces around him. If he wants to be a great basketball player and win he will be here and do what is necessary for the team to be successful. If not well....
  14. Yeah, love the dude but he is just past his prime at this point.
  15. I'd like to see better center depth but overall a great trade to say the least. Sexton also follows the clear value the FO is placing on culture. But he is on an expiring. Still gives us options going forward. I feel like there's another corresponding move or two in the future. I'm actually excited to see this new group together. At least the team is trying.
  16. Same. It didn't take for me either.
  17. As usual I know nothing about any of the prospects. I hope the guys we picked do well.
  18. Ball, Miller and Bridges will take turns getting injured every other game or so.
  19. Current Roster: G - LaMelo Ball, Tre Mann (needs QO), K.J. Simpson (two-way), Vasilije Micic (buy-out candidate) G - Collin Sexton, Kon Knueppel, Liam McNeeley, Nick Smith, DaQuan Jeffries (non-guaranteed), Damion Baugh (two-way) F - Brandon Miller, Josh Green, Josh Okogie (non-guaranteed), Sion James F - Miles Bridges, Grant Williams, Tidjane Salaun C - Moussa Diabate (non-guaranteed), Ryan Kalkbrenner Doubt Micic is on the roster, don’t see the Hornets keeping Jeffries either, Baugh’s two-way probably gets terminated, and I could see James being on a two-way. That would leave the Hornets one roster spot to address the center position… (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (4) G - Sexton, Knueppel, McNeeley, Smith (3) F - Miller, Green, Okogie, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (2) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner We could open one extra roster spot by waiving Okogie.
  20. This is a great trade for the Hornets but who plays center except Kalk?
  21. I think Cerrato will surprise some folks. The last two players the Canes have selected that were PPG players as freshmen were Jackson Blake and Bradly Nadeau. Cerrato’s in pretty good company as a PPG producer as a freshmen. He’s also a fantastic skater. Sure, he’s an overager but I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s centering the 4th line in a couple years.
  22. Burns sounds good as a Ghost replacement but not much else.
