  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah, don't ser how I missed that. Sorry, @Mr. Scot
  3. Well we can certainly attest that regardless of Bryce and Canales highs and lows the roster as a whole does have enough talent for us to compete for the division and the playoffs. And the plus side is this is a very young team. In all honesty yes the Panthers offseasons the last couple of years have been a little too much good vibes only and sunshine and rainbows. Canales has the potential to be the Panthers head coach for the next several years. We are seeing the makings of what appears to be a culture shift but unfortunately we're walking a razor thin line between that and full on catastrophe until we can string together consistent convincing wins. I sincerely hope to see it to finish the season.
  4. Honestly if Bryce wasn’t so bad for 2-3 quarters every game this would be a no brainer. Listening to post game commentary from players (Chuba and Ickey) they both said that Bryce was the key factor in the comeback and they all trusted and looked to him at the end of games to make a play. Kind of reminds me of another quarterback who was stuck behind Aaron Brooks in NO until we picked him up that always stepped up when the game mattered to make a play. 5-1 in one score games. The lone loss was the only game where Bryce didn’t make plays down the stretch to win it (and it was ugly). Whether you like it or not if we are within one score in the fourth then we have a chance with Bryce under center.
  5. I think there's positions that are too valuable to a team's makeup that we have a need for and I think should weigh heavily into the pick over pure-BPA. 1. ILB (Huge need) 2. OT (Moton will not last this build, we need his heir and if we're keeping Bryce, this line needs to be the engine) 3. EDGE (Guys are showing promise but if a stud is there, go for him)
  6. I'd throw Josh Allen in with Mahomes. Are Dolphin fans still split on Tua? I thought he was pretty much toast. (I know McDaniel is)
  7. No, that's cherry picking. And it's really just a different spin on the "winning in spite of him" argument. Bottom Line: You cannot logically support the notion that everybody gets credit for wins except Bryce. Now mind you, even with acknowledging all these things, it remains possible to suggest that we should move on from Bryce (I still am) but basing the argument on this kind of thinking or hyperbole like "worst quarterback in the league" is weak.
  8. Hahaha. I think they do want him to be successful but it's more like the Steph Curry effect. They want normal humans to think they can actually be NFL players.
  9. You're right. I remember 2 years ago a bunch of Cowboys fans were complaining about Dak. Same with Ravens fans and Lamar. Like they legit wanted to replace them. I just sat there like... huh?!
  10. The league and sports media at large has been salivating for Bryce Young to "arrive" since before he was even drafted. It's the Alabama effect.
  11. BPA in the first round. If that is a DT, so be it.
  12. I've argued before in this thread that the early season mediocrity isn't just Bryce. Very few NFL teams look great all season. Some start slow but get better. Others start strong but fade. The difference is offseason preparation and pacing throughout the aeason. Under Canales, the whole team comes out of the gate looking like sh-t, but they finish the season looking like winners. His in-season coaching and pacing seems to be solid. The offseason part...not so much That's why I want them to bring someone aboard who can coach Canales up on his offseason preparation. That includes helping Bryce get up to speed because what we're doing with him now obviously isn't cutting it.
  13. I'm not so sure Rico even gets a big contract. He hit the star in mario kart for 3 weeks but has settled a bit. Still pretty impressive but I don't see any team paying a 28 y/o guy a hefty contract beyond 2 years. He's probably looking at max 2 years, 8-9 mil per with an out in the second year. Probably in a BAL/HOU/KC type situation. The only major RB contracts are outliers (CMC/Saquan/Henry)..the top tier backs are in that $11-15 mil annual range. The solid starter/head of committee guys are in that 4-10 mil range. Hubbard is around 8 mil per but we clearly want him around. So you're right, don't see paying both to take up 16 mil combined next season so he'll probably be elsewhere while we have Etienne/Brooks coming in (and maybe another rookie)
  14. That's how it is for every QB short of Mahomes. Cam was amazing but had plenty of critics. I think panthers fans are split on Young like dolphins fans are with Tua.
  15. The Bucs upcoming games are the Saints at home and the Falcons at home. It's difficult to envision them losing either of those regardless of divsional rivalry. The only game I see as truly up in the air for them would be against the Dolphins in Miami. That could be an upset. If we want to take the torch from the Bucs we have to basically win out and slam the door shut.
  16. did you read the part of the post where it talked about the Panthers being clearly better in some areas? I'm talking about so clearly better there is virtually no disagreement on this board that thrives off of disagreement. Yeah, that's how you win more games than last year.
  17. I'm with you. I think the TD pass to T-Mac was indeed a dot. I think what confused people is the dot was paired with "slinging." He threw that one more so than slinged. The Coker TD was, in my opinion, slung.
  18. Yep, and if you want to try and gauge the "human element" of the team, watch the videos of the locker room celebrations, paying particular attention to when Canales talks about Bryce.
  19. Not sure why in quotes, but yeah really odd take from that guy. Panthers nominated for award and fans are mad. That is why people say huddlers aren't actually fans because y'all don't act like fans. If you love the team, be happy for the team when good things happen. If you think being pissed at players getting awards makes you a good fan, well I really have nothing to say to that. Can't argue with stupid. I think I'm gonna go make a thread about how it's time to pay Ickey and maybe someone will have a stroke over it. That could be fun.
  20. I like the potential of Etienne a lot. He has an impressive burst and he's young.
