Manning had a hell of an arm. Bryce looks like he's putting everything his body has to offer into throws that go 15 yards through the air. And the height matters, as others have mentioned dude is jumping on half his throws.
-
well, since I looked it up (this is dated 2023 so it lacks the tush push/Hurts update). Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Cam Newton are the best QB sneakers of the past 20 years. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/evolution-of-the-qb-sneak-how-we-got-here-and-what-history-tells-us-about-the-tush-pushs-future-in-the-nfl/ While known more for his prolific passing, Drew Brees was also highly successful when it came to QB sneaks. A former Super Bowl MVP, Brees has the third-highest conversion percentage and the third-most third/fourth-and-1 conversions by a quarterback since 2000 despite retiring after the 2020 season. His 73 conversions in those situations trails only Brady and Cam Newton (108) and is ahead of Josh Allen (64), Hurts (56) and fellow former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco (56).

Official Week 2: Panthers @ Cardinals Gameday Thread
Johnstonny replied to Super Grateful's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know!!! At least give yourself a fighting chance and go with analytics...but sucklip Dipper... -
Yeah. I mean he has no above average physical anything, and the bad mechanics and footwork weaken an already borderline arm. I was so baffled and frustrated with the narrative that had him as top pick. As far as going forward, you have a stack of 25 games where he was bad and over here, maybe 5 games where he was good, one where he was damned good. One. Moving forward with him is being completely blind to reason.

They have no solution, just want ppl to stop bashing Young
-
the problem with hiring an established head coach with an impressive resume is that he is going to get his "his guy " at Qb .their carrers are on the line & have to much money to lose at stake . so of course they do not want to take on a failed project like fixing an undersized Qb such as Bryce Young simply put you want a better head coach you have to also get a better Qb ...just saying
-
What is your solution?
-
Kyler Murray is built like a little tiny tank. Brees was sort of like Tom Brady. He went about it different, but the Brees QB sneak was sort of a signature move. Really high conversion rate.
-
This is a straight lie. Height and weight aren't the only tools. Prime Manning and Brees had plenty of arm and were actual legit savants at reading defenses and "processing". Murray has a cannon and makes Young look like he's running in mud by comparison.
-
I think it should be obvious by now that Young was over drafted. You cannot always equate investment to ability. Its not the players fault the team thinks they are worth more than they actually are. I think you are pointing the finger in the wrong direction.
-
Box score reverse analysis. For those that watched the game it was pathetic, both teams. At least Arizona can say their starting backfield were all injured...which makes the last drive even worse for Young.

Be careful what you wish for
Move the Panthers to Raleigh replied to cranky's topic in Carolina Panthers
My point is: we can't worry about past QBs and even Bill Walsh couldn't save Bryce -
That whole play is bizarre, it's ultimately on Bryce to just dump it to Chuba there, but like wtf are those routes?
-
I think it is easy to spend too much time worrying about the physical tools, or lack thereof. I suppose Cam spoiled everyone here. Manning didn't have the physical tools - maybe height - but nothing else. Brees didn't, Murray doesn't, etc.

/ end thread

Easy to solve. Send him to Miami. Or anywhere. No fugs left to give and no reason to play pretend anymore.
-
He would still suck if he was 6'4 230. It's not the height
-
We can't give Bryce more time, that's just crazy. It's put up or shut up.
-
I get what you're saying, but situations like these almost always require the QB to go to a new team before figuring it out.
-
The 5'10" stat negates anything else he brings to the table....sorry. Its a major analytic stat...but Sucklip Dipper ignored it.... there are prototypical qbs all over the place that bust....you godda realize a bust and move on regardless....
-
Then you are making my argument for me that he is a big part of the problem here.
-
Of course not but neither could Brees and I doubt Murray with the Cardinals could do a sneak either. No doubt, he does play with some limitations. That doesn't make him bad
-
Canales has never had what anyone would consider a successful offense as a play caller .that offense you are referring to was not really that good it ranked in the low 20's in total offense out of 32 teams the only reason Canales was hired as a head coach was not so much about having an impressive resume it was more about his friendship with Dan Morgan

Football players dont magically grow taller from their senior year to starting in the NFL. Young had success playting against players with the same height as NFL players while in college. They may be better and stronger, but they are not taller so if his height wasn't a problem in College, than it shouldn't be in the NFL.
-
If we give Young more time, will he ever be able to do QB sneaks and Hail Mary passes?
