If he is carrying a dual role, I suspect that the Bills will decline in the near future. The worst thing for someone with ego issues is expanding their powers.
-
Yikes at Caleb
-
I heard on ESPN or Fox Sports, that Beane's role has actually been expanded. He's President of Football Operations, but he still retains his role as GM.
-
It's a tough call between Twatter and TikTok. The dumber people I tend to run across are heavy TikTok users. All social media is the worst posion humanity has ever created, though. Of that there is simply zero doubt.
-
I think Beane got moved out of his GM role for some valid reasons. He shares a lot of the blame for a bunch of critical FA whiffs and poor draft picks. Also, he has made a lot of passionate "defenses" of his errors in the media and blamed some of their lack of draft success on not picking higher in the draft. Based on his own words and actions, I would be inclined to want better for us. Now, is he better than Dan Morgan? Very possibly. I am just not convinced that is a high bar to clear yet.

I would give that illustrious characteristic/title to X, formerly known as Twitter. Well, maybe so called social media in general. X is just the top, or the bottom...

LLM's are largely terrible and will likely remain so for at least a decade. I agree AI might eventually be useful but it's absolutely dreadful right now. It's biggest use has been to identify the dumbest people, TBH.
-
Also, I will say @kungfoodude, AI is not inherently a bad thing, especially within the context of the Internet, searching and aggregating information. You just have to realize that in its current iteration, it's not error free, so you have to check the sources, but the better it gets the more accurate it should get. It doesn't replace critical thinking, it's a tool in order to aid critical thinking. Just because someone uses AI to gather information doesn't make them wrong. It could make them "lazy" in the sense that they should double-check the veracity of information and sometimes they don't. But, AI is a tool, at least for now, and that's really the concept behind AI: to aid humanity. It may be a wondrous thing a century from now.

I think you have to look at Beane's outcomes in Buffalo (a team that was a shambles when he got there) and see how they were able to come from the cellar into the catbird seat for nearly a decade, supplanting and eventually uprooting the legendary Pats and Belichick. Morgan has had... it's probably too early to grade Morgan's effort. Our move from the cellar upwards coincided with some crashing under their own weight by our division mates. Straight up, though, I'd take Beane in a minute.

Nah, just a modern world full of typos with the emergence of texting while doing other things
-
Yeah, that was such a bad decision. The Titans are awful. He really must be HC desperate.

Could Morgan be eyeing Trey Hendrickson

I wouldn't at the cost it will require. We aren't one piece away, we are several. I also want an elite pass rusher(or rushers) but selling out your future for the present is how we ended up so bad in the first place. For a team with as bad of a roster as we have, those draft picks are like a bevy of lifelines to help us pull ourselves out of the quagmire we are currently in. Trading picks is like intentionally cutting them. If Trey is a cheapish option, fine. I can predict an Evero still here future on that, in the 2027 offseason people will be saying he should be cut and we were idiots for signing a guy that only got 5-7 sacks. "Trey is washed! Should have traded for *insert younger player who would also have performed poorly in this defense*!" - Today

He has had two concussions and two shoulder injuries(one in college). https://www.draftsharks.com/fantasy/injury-history/cj-stroud/13539 It's funny that Bryce may end up being the most durable of all these guys.
-
This is how low modern critical thinking is, eh?
-
Our triumvirate of awful GM's in Hurney, Gettleman and Fitterer will be tough for most franchises to beat. Fitterer may have been worse than Matt Millen.
-
It is if they are complete projects.
-
Cj missed 3 games because of a concussion right? I think they are David Carring him just like they did to Carr. Get a decent QB and don't protect him, it's the Houston way.

If possible, I’d rather trade for Crosby -
But it thought it was a negative to draft dudes that are 24, 25, and 26 years old. lol
-
He is saying players that get drafted mid to late first round end up in better situations because they typically go to better franchises.
-
I mean, I was accused of "simping" for the guy, so...The Huddle gonna Huddle. I guess people's feelings are genuinely hurt that McDermott got the axe. Like AI explained in the other thread, it's unfortunate, but he was the HC for players that underperformed time and time again during crunch time (much like B-more for Harbaugh). Even owners get tired sometimes and perceive that a change is needed. Coaches are generally the ones that are fired in these situations, especially when teams really are championship-caliber.
-
Talent aside that man took Carolina passing on him to heart and it would be awkward.
-
It's worth discussing the 180 degree shift in attitudes about Beane. He obviously doesn't suck.
