Why would they trade him? He's cheap AF and showing some potential.
-
I guess it’s just more noticeable this year. Just compare the MVP race last two years to now.
-
But there were better qbs 15-20 years ago
-
I mean if you have to go back 5 years to make your point, I'm not sure it really suggests there will be much difference in how teams handle the QB position etc since they really haven't in that time. There has been a long-term trend where passing yards have gone down, but things have been pretty darn stable the last 3 years
-
so uh, which statistics is he actually at and above average? it sounds like he's below average in everything, which is what CRA was saying.
-
2025 Season (Avg) vs 2020 Season (Avg) Passing Yards per Game~228.2 vs ~240.2 Passer Rating~91.9 vs ~93.6 Completion Pct ~64.6% vs ~65.2% Passing TDs~1.85 per game vs ~2.0
-
I dunno, we're talking 217 vs 212 yards, 7.1 vs 7.0 YPA, 92.3 QB rating vs 91.9, and QBs are actually throwing more TDs by percentage this year (4.7 this year vs 4.5 last).
-
Revamp the QB room, yes! Trade for shadeur, heeelllll no
-
Passing offenses are only averaging a few yards less this year than last, and I think that passing numbers trend up towards the end of the year, so we'll probably end up in a similar space. What I do think is different is that star QBs clearly aren't enough to carry teams right now.
-
even top QBs are struggling. Stafford was almost the anomaly Lower passing yards, QB rating, TDs, air yards per attempt, etc.
-
The change has been teams playing two high safeties to choke off big passing numbers. Your top tier qbs still produce though, and I do not think it will translate into an economic shift across positions in the league. The premium positions, qb, lt, pass rush, will still be the premiums.

Which means what exactly? I was comparing only to underscore the subjectivity of stats and that even Bryce can accumulate them throwing enough. Maybe this will be meaningful in Shedeur’s overall development? It’s an incredibly small sample size that looked rough before today. There are multiple reasons to question their significance, and there were some major mistakes that factored into the loss.

The Nashville game was an effort by the entire team. Everyone showed up, everyone contributed. Tonight was the exact opposite. Nobody had any spark. The best players on the ice were Martinook and Robinson. Aho was complete ass and should have been benched. He got tossed from the FO circle how many times? A season long 7-game home-stand against average and below teams. Time to take advantage and create some point difference in a tight division. Instead, 3-3 with one more game.
-
I don't think the statistics bear out this viewpoint.
-
Well, he made JJ McCarthy look pretty good is all I will say.
-
I personally love to see balance and parity in the NFL. Defenses have adjusted to the passing attacks and have made it difficult to play QB again. For a while it seemed like anyone can do it. Hopefully it also means they will stop overpaying QBs and invest in other assets, win as a team rather than just relying on elite QBs. Resurgence of the running game has brought the game back to where it was about 15-20 years ago.
-
That statement just reinforces what I said earlier.
-
I did not see it--but my opinion is based on a very limited body of work
-
But, some of the best passing on the PP. No shooting, but nice passing.
-
Shedeur is in year 1, while that game you’re referencing from Bryce was year 3 Bryce…
-
I don’t see the falcons winning, but they won’t lay down against Tampa. I’d expect Thursdays game to be close until the end. I am really worried about us against the Saints. These NFC South games can go either way, and I don’t trust Bryce; especially against New Orleans.

He is 22nd in comp% ahead of Baker Mayfield, Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, Michael Penix, Trevor Lawrence, Cam Ward and Caleb Williams. The league averge is 64.6. Young is currently 63.4%. I'm not sure a little over 1% difference below average is worth complaining about. Youngs' rating is 87.9, just behind Caleb Williams 88.2, Michael Penix 88.5 and CJ Stroud 91.1. Are these stats really what you are using to trash Young with.

They lost to the team that was the worst team in the league last year, tied for the worst this year (worst before this win) and traded three defensive starters at the deadline. This stat line is very close to those Bryce had in his game against AZ this year (330yds, 3td, 1 int). Doubt those in this thread were slobbering over it then. Stats tend to accumulate when you throw over 40 times a game. Who cares if you lose. They also blew two key two point conversions.
-
There is still time to have them as double digit underdogs.
