  1. Past hour
  2. If the over/under was the midrange of your prediction, I'd be tempted to drop significant change on under 8 wins.
  3. Hopefully nothing goes astray tonight. This is one of the most fortunate preseasons I can remember in terms of injuries. Hopefully this bodes well and continues into the season.
  4. The reality will likely be somewhere in between. I don't expect we'll blow the doors off the NFL this year, but I don't think we'll be trash either. I see 7-9 wins.
  5. Let's fn go Tommy! One step closer to a healthy 1st string for opening day.
  6. Of those 40+ target guys for YAC/Rec, AT was only behind J. Sanders, Hubbard and Coker for 2024. In 2023 it was Hubbard, M. Sanders and Mingo. So, in a lot of ways, it has been the WR's(Chark, XL, Diontae, D. Moore, etc) that haven't been producing those YAC. Not claiming AT is a YAC guy at all but, as so many of us keep saying, it's not AT that's the issue. It's the guys that are supposed to be outproducing him.
  7. This is about getting open and YAC....and the QB we have. You basically are just highlighting average depth when targeted vs 2 players. . And yeah, I often say AT is a small slow reliable TE in terms of what he does for us. That's what he is. I think a couple of you want to make this into a Renfrow argument. I'm a Renfrow fan. Renfrow does not check the box of what a BY O needs either at the slot. Renfrow just a niche roleplayer at this level. it's easy to look up how horrific AT is with the ball in his hands and in terms of getting open.....and it's also easy to look up what a low ceiling of an offense the steady AT diet produces w/ BY.
  8. I simply acknowledge BY is the QB. And just like we did when we drafted him.....the type O you would need to setup around him for success was always pretty simple. But we have done virtually the opposite. XL dropping some passes isn't why we were ranked the 32nd O and 30th passing the past 2 years. *Ricky Prohel was brought up only in regards to role function he served on the team. Niche/specialist. He wasn't eating up the snaps in the O. AT should have a similar snap %. People could MAUL Ricky Prohel and put hands all over him. We got to the Super Bowl in part because we were mauling guys (our slot CB). You can't do that now. AT has a MUCH easier life and still can't get open. Or run. If you live in 3 WR sets, with a weak armed QB, and you choose to put someone who can't get open or run in the slot.......well, your are going to have a weak pass O. That's by design IMO.
  9. Thielen's yards per reception was higher last year than any of Renfrows career. His per game productivity last year as an old slow receiver the same as Renfrows 1 good season. These things are easy to find.
  10. With 1 more game but yeah hopefully Canales is better, obviously Rhule sucked. Better than Reich though and jury out on DC. Of course Wilks’ interim stint was the best we’ve had since 2017 but I give Tepper zero credit for that
  11. I turned on Youtube TV at work last Saturday afternoon and was a little bummed the game wasn't on NFL network and then I looked at Twitter game posts and was like never mind, then I tried to watch the "highlights" on Youtube a couple nights ago and turned that off after about 30 seconds lol.
  12. Today
  13. Its funny how quickly my mindset went from: ITS GAMEDAY, LETS KICK SOME ASS to Its gameday, Please don't make me embarrassed to be seen in my Panthers gear.
  14. Joe Judge sucked ass too, no doubt. But at least he sucked about as relatively quietly as someone can suck in the media capital of the world that is NYC. Rhule was the big splash. Make a big splash flop like Rhule in NYC and it's THE big story in the NFL.
  15. Teams don't usually cut fifth-round picks in the preseason. I'd be surprised to see Evans get cut, but who knows with these guys.
  16. Deontae Johnson and XL were getting open last year. They just couldn't catch the ball. You're making this complicated to make AT fit the container you've made for him. Shorter routes don't need as much separation, because the defense isn't allowed to touch you. If you catch the ball, in 1 on 1 you are basically unstoppable. Ricky Prohel was going dad mode on a bunch of 4-3 defenses 20 years ago. The game has changed so much since then, I don't see how its relevant.
  17. Carolina's offense doesn't produce. Part of that, is we have WRs that can't get open and can't do anything with the ball in their hands. We live in 3 WR sets. And we choose to put an old, slow, no YAC guy there paired w/ our weaker armed QB. We make life hard. If you can't get open or make a play in the slot....you frankly have aged out. Doesn't matter how good your hands are. It's a lot of empty yards and punts by your O.
  18. It's about production. Not about statistical leaders necessarily. And separation doesn't mean as much since its basically 2 hand touch in the secondary now.
  19. My Giants fan buddy never misses an opportunity to thank me for the Panthers saving them from making that mistake. Tepper was strutting around flexing hard thinking he'd pulled off a coup stealing the next great NFL coach out from under the nose of NYC. LOL
  20. Yeah, the perennial contenders are perennial contenders in large part because they consistently draft well. The perennial bottom dwellers are perennial bottom dwellers in large part because they consistently draft poorly. A situation like the Belichick/Brady Pats is a rarity where a team continues to dominate despite drafting poorly in large part because quality aging vets are willing to sign at a discount to ring chase.
