Is the audible surprising? Who did Marshall play for at LSU for a year? Also, Darnolds throws in this game looked better than any single game I saw with the Jets. Even these preseason play calls make Adam Gase look like he should be the QB Coach for the UNC Tar Heels or something. Seriously, Sam didn't have to improvise to be good on Friday. It always seemed that his highlights in NY were improvisation.

Terrace Marshall Jr. is leading the NFL
CPcavedweller replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Then...he will be leading all the rookies? I guess. The Panthers will go as the offensive line goes. Darnold will be what everyone thought he would be when he came out of USC. -
Steve Smith is quite possibly the most iconic Panther of all time, good or bad. I'd say you do away with the play by play guy and just sit Kuechly and Smith up there.
-
I've never heard of him. I admittedly didn't watch as much NFL football in 2020 as I did in previous years. In all honesty, I'm for signing or trading for anyone that can help the team. If you believe McGovern can do it, and his cost is reasonable, I'd say go for it. For me, I just love the speed and length of Smith. He's almost a Kam Chancellor type of talent if used properly due to his measurables. With Chinn and Smith you'd almost have a Thomas/Chancellor dynamic. However we would be in a better position on the boundary with Horn than Seattle was with Sherman, in my opinion. Of course neither option will happen. And I don't believe that Snow is a Bradley or the other DC (forgot his name).

He has a Panther shirt on. So, it doesn't matter.

I mean, Lawrence is basically Jesus anyway, and I'm an App State/Panthers fan. If the Jaguars can build correctly, by Year 3 they may be stable enough to become a perennial playoff member since they play in the AFC South and have a guy with the highest ceiling since Luck.

You wrote that article, didn't you? That's what this is about. There is no controversy. Sam is the better QB. If PJ started this year, neither of them would be on the roster in 2022.
-
Its Sam... If PJ Walker is our starting QB then we will be drafting a QB in 2022.

He's one of the best defensive coaches in the league and 45% of Washington's front 7 has All-Pro talent? You give Rivera a quality GM and he hires a quality offensive coordinator and you'll see them dominate the East. Despite what many believe, defense still wins championships and the Football Team is on a path to have enough defensive talent to match the 2012 Seahawks.
-
And we somehow made it to a super bowl with Cotch, Brown, and Funchess at receiver, an old Jared Allen, two safeties that no one remembers, Star, KK and Josh Norman. Rivera coached the 2015 teams to wins despite the piss poor roster management and drafting of Gettlemen. It caught up to us every other year when our veteran journeymen role players moved on and there was no consistency because Gettlemens talent evaluation was awful. It's hard to have consistency when almost 75% of your draft picks were not contributors outright or as depth. So the only question is how much is Rivera at fault for the poor drafting? Our winning teams always overperformed their talent level whereas our losing seasons were more a product of our talent level playing to their proper ability. That is a GM issue, not coaching. Rivera was a good coach and one of the best defensive minds in the game. With a proper GM, don't be surprised to see Rivera win a Super Bowl in Washington before we do here. I don't say that to be cynical of our current staff but rather coaching wasn't the issue before.

The Panthers have never had back to back winning seasons. .546 is pretty much the mean. The last four years were spent with an injured quarterback after everyone seemed to be gunning for his head from the Super Bowl on.
-
Omgah...whatz we gonna do when Darnold loses his first preseason game...omgggg
-
And out come the dog whistles. First NFC South coach to win the Division 3 years in a row, Super Bowl, NFC Champions, consistent upper echelon defenses. Our biggest issue was not Rivera, it was Hurney and Gettlemen.

Panthers Training Camp - Tuesday Camp Thread

Lids and shorts is nothing. As they say, "when the pads come on, you find out who can play". -

It's Kyle Pitts... He's a TE, WR, H-Back...kick coverage unit... You just drafted three positions with one pick. -
Jets asst coach in critical condition after bike accident
CPcavedweller replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've been a victim of this as well, but I was 13. I hope he was as lucky as I to only have a major concussion and no other more acute brain "damage" (note I had bruised lungs, kidneys, femoral artery partially severed, etc.) Life support isn't the end all be all. Thoughts are with the family. -
Records show Charlotte lacks money for a new stadium
CPcavedweller replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
Charlotte will slowly become an over-regulated, over taxed black hole with the rate of financing they are undertaking. I'd be interested to know if the bonds for repayment are pre-approved for all projects and if any single person is aware of each of the projects. With a more tame approach, getting a locality that approaches 1,000,000 people to agree to a .0025% tax increase to finance A project isn't terrible. But with the cities reticence to partner with the Panthers to build a stadium, I think it's important to look at how the Panthers and Hornets have contributed to the economic growth of the area. Some will say not much, some will say not at all, but I believe a study could be conducted with actual numbers to determine their contribution to the influx of skilled labor, business, jobs, etc. -
What will a week 1 loss to the Jets do to Darnold?
CPcavedweller replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Umm...there are 16 more games? Guess the Panthers will trade him for Bridgewater at that point, right? What last season showed is that the Panthers were going to score points, regardless of who was being played (sans a couple of weeks). This type of game, with the improvement of the defense, should see the Panthers win 24-3 or by any number of points at a similar margin. -
Maybe his life just revolves around being on Social Media? And his self worth is wrapped up in what others perception of him is? Don't think Luke, CMC, Olsen, Davis, Minter, etc. practiced as much as him, or worked as much, on their own?
