  1. I probably would've taken Micah Parsons. Brown in 2020, Parsons in 2021, etc.
  2. By History do you mean multiple time National Champion and Coach of the Year? Now that paying players is fair game in college football, Urban would be fine, as he likely always has been. The big time schools have been paying recruits forever; some are just smarter than others and the NCAA tends to ignore certain...cough Saban...cough..Meyer...cough... Tressel...programs.
  3. Some guys deserve to have numbers retired. Greg Olsen made and continues to make a huge impact not only on the Carolina Panthers but in the Charlotte area in general. As for his play on the field, he was the first tight end to have 4 straight 1,000 yard seasons, Super Bowl appearance, Pro Bowls, iron man, Man of the Year Finalist, etc. Etc. If there was every a players jersey that deserved to be retired, that's it. I'd argue that Luke, Greg, and Cam are on another level of impact than Davis and Peppers. Steve Smith I'd say yes as well. Peppers and Davis are guys you honor.
  4. That's why I shook my head when I saw we signed Whitehead and everyone here seemed to be cheering for it, if not crying because Luke was gone. I'll stand by my pick projection, we should've taken Micah Parsons instead of Horn. Cornerbacks can affect the game but a Middle Linebacker of that athletic ability alters a franchise. I assumed our new GM would understand that because without Wagner and Chancellor, Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman are JAG. Inside out.
  5. I'm not sure how the Panthers allow the number to be worn. Greg is probably number 2 or 3 on the list of players who deserve to have their numbers retired ASAP.
  6. Funny, a couple of months ago I remember the Huddle flaming Orlovsky. Now all of the sudden he knows what he's talking about? Good stuff.
  7. The Panthers had a losing record last year. They watch and review pretty much every snap of every game. I'm not sure that they poo on the Panthers so much as the Panthers poo themselves in games.
  8. This typically is the case at this time of year.
  9. I personally like Durham, Winston Salem and Greensboro as well.
  10. Bring them to Greensboro. Charlotte has had enough.
  11. The lack of practice on 2-minute situations would explain why we sucked on drives that could've won the game. The real issue was COVID restrictions. It was a problem for almost every QB in a new system other than Brady and Rivers.
  12. We saw Sam as our QB draft pick...its that simple. I personally don't blame them considering he is 23 and already has NFL experience.
  13. If you can get Aaron Rodgers...you go get Aaron Rodgers. It would be an incredibly poor business decision by Tepper and Fitterer NOT to get Rodgers. We were a reliable 4th quarter QB away from the playoffs last year. Rodgers elevates us to competing with the Bucs for the South and presumably the NFC.
  14. He won't be poo if we don't get better play out of the middle of the defense and that starts up front. That is why I advocated for Micah Parsons; 6'3 240 lbs and runs a legitimate 4.4 40. That type of athleticism in the middle of your defense immediately and irrevocably upgrades everyone outside and behind them. Yet we went with a corner, one of the least consequential positions that impacts the outcome of plays time and time again. As an organization, the Panthers have almost always had a Hall of Fame talent at MLB and if they didn't there was one outside. It was built this way because that position matters to a defense the same way a QB matters to offense. Take Horn was akin to us taking Devonta Smith but keeping PJ Washington as our starting QB. Smith will be a fantastic player but if PJ is our QB, the offense isn't going to do poo consistently. So we just did that same thing by drafting Horn. He may make a splash play or two that affect the outcome of a game. But he isn't going to be in position to wreck a game and control an offense the way a linebacker can. When you have athletes like Kuechly or Wagner controlling and commanding the middle of the field it affects everything around them. We completely and utterly lack that ability right now and the entire defense will suffer for it. Teams don't win championships without great middle field play the same way they don't without a QB. Would the Bucs have won without Devin White? poo no they wouldn't have. They could have two all world corners but without White wrecking the Chiefs receivers, backs, quarterback, and offensive like the Bucs likely lose that game. Gimme a great Linebacker over a great Corner, if I have to make the decision. Its clear we did. Sticky this comment for Week 8 when we are lamenting how the middle of our defense is putrid and losing games while Parsons is on a Rookie of the Year run.
  15. How much did Patrick Peterson help Arizona? How much did Luke Kuechly help us? Comparatively, you take Parsons for highest impact. But what do I know?
  16. Micah Parsons. You can't go from Dan Morgan, Jon Beason, and Luke Kuechly to the hodgepodge of crap we had in 2020. Bring in a Franchise QB of the defense.
  17. Lance doesn't hold a candle to Newton now or coming out of college, maybe even ever.
  18. I take Pitts or Micah Parsons. We picked up a potential quality QB already, time to replace Luke woth another generational Mike. You take Parsons if he's there, in my opinion. If you can get even middle of the road play from Darnold, rhe Panthers immediately become the 2nd team in the South.
  19. His playoff performances say otherwise. People like to dog on his Alabama game but that game, in my opinion, was more impressive than the Clemson game. It looked more poor than it really was because Ohio State's defense came up with one or two stops the entire game. Fields had to come off of his first read on many plays, and even if he had only done so once, that was one more time than Mac Jones. Anyone who would rather have Jones or Lance over Fields is a fool. Best case scenario for Fields is to go to the Patriots where he can sit behind Cam for a year.
  20. We would've won more games with a quality TE as well. You go Pitts, Sewell, or Chase. I'm not a fan of trading back out of the top 10.
  21. Kyle Pitts...point blank. Generational talent at TE to go with Moore, Anderson, and CMC. That position is what we were missing on late game drives and he's pretty much the only capable choice to make a big impact in 2021-22.
