    Heck Stroud might even be there at 9 at this point. Every year it seems someone drops - Stroud might be that guy this year

    Yeah my initial comment was a reply to someone in this thread saying Cam was the best passer of the ball they’ve ever seen. I wasn’t bashing Cam, just disputing that comment.

    Idk - 2006 with Troy Brown and Reche Caldwell was pretty bad. But yeah our SB cast was ugly.

    Plenty? There were several years where Brady’s best WR was Deion Branch. Come on man. I agree that Cam got shafted. Cam is prob my all time favorite Panther but to see is he’s the best pure passer of someone’s ever seen is crazy

    Bottom line - no players college performance, regardless is college, is indicative of what kind of pro player they’ll be. If it was, teams would hit on high draft picks all the time.

    Why should Stroud care about fake leaks? All NFL teams have the real scores. It’s not like some GM is reading twitter seeing these scores for the first time and changing his draft strategy.

    I get that - but I’ve watched every single Cam Newton game and as much as I love him, he always had accuracy issues.

    Come on man. I love Cam - but he has one of the lowest completion percentages of any starting QB the last decade. Overthrows consistently plagued him.

    I hate turf. But everyone forgets about all the complaints about the grass field during the SB. Some of these guys today could never play on the old school football fields with a dirt baseball diamond in the middle of it

    Agreed. Use free agency if need be - draft picks are too valuable to spend one on a bottom of the roster guy at a position we are fairly set at. I’d rather use those picks to add pass rushers, corners, line backers and backup OL.

    Justin Jackson could be in play - dual threat back who was with Staley last year.

    We aren’t done at CB in free agency. Highly likely we bring someone else in, possibly Tre Flowers

    My guess is we offered around the same, maybe a tiny bit more. He sat on it for a while, and waited so long that we were no longer comfortable waiting and potentially missing out on both him and one of the other top starters available. We moved on, and so did he.

    I wouldn’t say any rookie is a shoe in. Still have guys like Derek Carr and Brock Purdy who could put up good numbers in their offenses. Same with Dak and Stafford if healthy.

    Still need: Edge ILB CB OT/OG depth the fact that we brought Flowers in for a visit tells me we are still looking to add key depth at CB before the draft. My guess is we go Edge or ILB at 39

    If the coaching staff feels like Young has everything they are looking for other than size, they’ll draft him and make sure he packs on 10-15 pounds of muscle prior to his first pro snap. I remember everyone wondering if 160 pound Devonte Smith would survive in the nfl. Dude goes across the middle and absorbs hits like he’s AJ Brown.

    For those who keep saying Chinn doesn’t have a role, watch tape of Josey Jewell this past season in Evero’s defense. Jewell is similar in size to Chinn and plays a role Chinn will likely play. Not to mention Chinn can be even better than Jewell.

    I’m starting to miss the days when the team with the #1 pick negotiated the contract with the player they wanted weeks before the draft

    He will play under the 5th year option in 2024. Won’t have to sign him to an extension until 2025.
