I think the instant Tepper saw Sam out there playing like trash he knew our scouts were clueless in evaluating QBs. Literally a random football fan could have told you Sam was a bad idea. At that point I think Tepper decided that we needed a proven QB who has played at a high level. No more of this long shot wing and a prayer nonsense, and drafting a QB with these scouts would be similar to gambling.

So as I was saying 4 hours ago. This is how it is. So we have a while to wait.

I'm speculating that he will be meeting with the Browns. I'm not saying that as a reported fact.

The Browns are preparing a deal and I think they will be given the time by the Texans to make their offer. I think Watson will still need to visit the Browns before any deal will be made. So I don't see a need to check twitter for a while.

The Browns must know that this deal isn't close to being done. The Texans must have told the Browns they have time to put together an offer. Looks like we're gong to have to wait a while imo. Just my speculation given some facts.

Watson will want to keep CMC, DJ, Robby, and Terrace together for weaponry. We won't be trading offensive weapons in the Texans deal, nor to other teams imo.

That's the smart play if we land Watson we'll still need weapons around him. If we miss on Watson, then try to trade CMC and plan for 2023 rookie QB.

Jeremy Chinn was running into the wrong gaps and pissing Shaq off. We don't have a bunch of superstars on defense. They got owned.

I think Horn has this legendary status like he's Dion Sanders or something around here. In college if Horn got isolated on a really good WR the WR would blow past him. Horn would grab the WR around the waste and hold on for dear life. They didn't call much of his pass interference in college. In the pros the flags will be flying when we face top aerial attack teams. They're not going to let Horn hold like that. That's why you don't place your hopes on Horn locking down elite WRs in the pros. You have an aerial attack of your own for he doesn't have to try and do more than he can.

If the 2021 defense had carried us into the playoffs or something I'd lament losing some pieces. Good teams beat the holy jeebus out of our defense. The ran it right down our throat for huge gains, and when they got bored with running they aired it out all over the field. That's what we have to keep together? That's what you're dying to watch next season? 5 wins and our defense getting raped unless the other team is terrible? I know why Huddlers are like this about the Panthers. It's that Jon Fox and Ron Rivera aftertaste that has Panthers fans hooked on LBs and tough run defense. It comes from 90's football when you'd win the division by beating Tampa Bay 9 to 3.
